Ingratitude: The Enemy of Celebration

…seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

The Meaning of IngratitudeThe Benefit of Gratitude

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” Luke 17:11-13

When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. Luke 17:14

When Jesus makes a declaration about you, it’s a done deal.

If you believe then

act like it!

“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He

threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him……and he was a Samaritan. Luke 17:15-16

Then Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine—where are they? Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?” Luke 17:17-19

The meaning of ingratitudeThe ungrateful nine took God’s gracious acts for granted.

The ungrateful nine were consumed with the gifts and not the giver

The benefit of gratitudeAnd He said to him, “Stand up andgo; your faith has made you well.”Luke 17:19

He received more than he expected “…your faith has made you well” (spiritual wholeness)

Take Aways We should know: Gratitude always

follows faith
