VACATIONS CAN VERY EASILY BECOME MORE WORK THAN PLAY
FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES TO ENSURE THAT YOUR VACATION DOW NOT END UP BEING LESS
THAN ENJOYABLE:
Choose Activities You’ll Enjoy
Don’t feel obligated to go to the extreme edge of your comfort zone
Keep your activities manageable and realistic
It can be fun to push limits, but make sure you’re having fun and not having a panic attack
Stay Away from Technology
It can be hard to get away from emails/texts/calls (especially because our phones functions as cameras and maps)
Try to detach:
Set up vacation responders
Schedule times to call loved ones
Invest in physical maps
Get a camera that isn’t attached to your phone
Be PoliteKeep in mind that customs and behaviors differ between cities, regions, and countries
What’s considered acceptable in one place may not be in another
Remain understanding and polite in all situations…No one will want to help an unpleasant individual
Hire a Travel Guide
Many travelers feel as though hiring a guide makes them seem like a newbie
There are many cases where guides will make the trip.
Pro Tip: If your travels include lots of nature, hire a guide. You’ll get more out of the experience with knowledgable eyes guiding you.
