Three Plans
• In-Person
• Hybrid- part in-person and part remote (will move fluidly to District led Remote Learning Plan as needed)
• Remote Learning- opt for wholly remote
PreK-4
• In-person daily M, T, ½ W, TH, F
• Small class sizes
• Limited contact with other students
• Transportation may have more than 1 Tier
Grades 5-12
• Cohort A: Students in Tolland and Granville along with students who reside in Southwick with last names beginning with an A-J will attend in person learning on Mondays and Tuesdays. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be remote learning days for these students.
– Smaller cohort sizes
– Grouped for transportation consolidation

Grades 5-12
• Cohort B: Students with the last names beginning with K-Z who reside in Southwick and students who participate in our METCO program will attend in-person learning on Thursday and Fridays. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be remote learning days for these students.

Grades 5-12
• Cohort C: DESE has asked districts to prioritize our students in specialized programming, e.g., English Language Learners, students with special needs, students identified as being in the lowest 25% of performance, etc. These students will attend school in-person daily, with Wednesdays being half days. You will be notified if your child qualifies.

Full Remote OptionCohort D: This cohort is for students and families who specifically selected for a wholly remote learning experience. These students will be enrolled in the “Massachusetts Virtual Academy” and receive all their instruction using this platform.
– These students will remain registered in STGRSD and will be able to participate in extracurricular offerings if they remain in good standing (conduct and attendance).
– This option will be managed by the state approved Learning Management System- more information forthcoming

Next Steps
In closing
I firmly believe that we have a plan that is both reasonable for application and safe for implementation.
The hybrid model will allow students to access the curriculum and restore their connections with faculty, staff, and administrators.
Educators will be able to deliver meaningful lessons in a controlled environment.
Feedback from students, staff, Committee Members, and community members will be accepted and appreciated.
