We believe that actions speak in louder than words. In 2 years we became licensee of the FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf; we produced, shipped, installed and certified FIFA Recommended Pitches in South Korea, Chile, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Comoros Islands, Mauritania, Morocco and Kuwait.

We have built the synthetic grass fields all over the world. We have engineered special products - OMEGA TURF - for special projects under severe conditions, such as Ashgabat Stadium in Turkmenistan.

We designed extra ordinary installation methods, just as we did in the world’s largest landscaping project in Riyadh with 160.000 square meters. We introduced creative solutions for unusual demands, just as in Gaziantep Tramway Project of 148,000 square meters and Ankara Esenboga Airport.

HATKO R&D engineers spent hundreds of technical hours on the examination of natural turf systems and cloned all benefits of the natural turf blades to our new patented system, Omega Turf. On the best natural turf fields, the turf blades have a concave structure, but it is not enough for perfect results in terms of long playing hours. HATKO engineers transformed the natural turf pitch blades with engineering techniques and created our new patented turf blade profile Omega.

Conventional 50-60 mm pile height systems generally fail because of the compaction of the high depth infill. Another purpose is to have a stable and smooth surface.

Silica sand gives “stability” and rubber infill gives “shock absorption” to the system, together protecting the fibres for a longer use.

As a result, we could state that infill artificial grass systems are more suitable than its non-infill rival for the surfaces with heavy traffic.

But still you could have some other reasons to chose non-infill artificial grass …

A non-infilled artificial grass system may be considered by clients who want to use artificial grass for residential purposes, kids or pets play areas, surrounding area of swimming pools, landscaping areas especially with hard slopes, decoration of walls / roofs. Also, the clients who worry about kids putting the rubber granules or sands into mouth may want to use such systems.

HATKO engineers developed an innovative solution for non-infill artificial turf systems. The combination of the curly and straight monofilament with our State of Art Two-Pile-Height Tufting Technology provides natural turf playing characteristics and quality very close to that of the nature of the game.

HATKO Non-Infill systems are tested by FIFA accredited laboratories for Toxicology and Flammability according to DIN 18035-7 and DIN 51960 norms.

Customers frequently ask us which one is better? There is no clear answer to this question; it depends on your choice and usage area.

ATHLON JG is a specially designed multi-layered impermeable system for outdoor sports activities. The first layer applied is primer, then one layer of 10-40mm thick elastic rubber base poured in place, followed by 5-10mm thick EPDM in-situ layer. After the EPDM installation, a fine layer of pore sealer fills the voids smoothly and provides strong adherence between the final self-leveling UV resistant durable polyurethane coat. The system is finished with an aliphatic color coat. Athlon JG provides high shock absorbency and excellent mechanical durability for all kinds of sport and jogging facilities and has been designed specially for dusty environment and hard weather conditions.

HATKO Athlon MP Athletic Track Surfacing system is a seamless and elastic synthetic floor covering comprising a permeable sandwich type construction of special in-situ shock absorbent SBR and EPDM rubber layers in desired thickness. The first layer applied is primer, then 10-40mm thick elastic in-situ rubber base, followed by 5-10mm thick EPDM layer poured in place. The system can be finished with an optional aliphatic UV resistant lacquer.

ATHLON MP is a 2-layer sandwich system and is developed to resist UV degradation in the most severe climate conditions.

ATHLON SW System is a type of sandwich track system specially designed for excellent resilience, energy restitution and shock absoprtion for professional athletic competitions on outdoor track facilities. The system consists of an in-situ applied shock-absorbent SBR rubber base in combination with a flexible high-performance polyurethane self-leveling layer, embedded with colored EPDM granules. The system strictly adheres to the IAAF’s technical requirements.

HATKO Acrylic Surfaces are designed and produced in order to provide suitable for any level from the amateur community courts to ITF-recognized ones (2 Medium Slow). High-quality polymers deliver the highest quality and durability to our systems with the most efficient and economic consumption. The compositions are engineered to lower the transport and storage costs. In addition to these technical advantages, we provide a very large range of colors, as well as customization opportunities in line with project requirements.

The play area lines are tufted in and available in different colors, including all green or all red clay or mixed with yellow and white line markings. Tennis Regular provides the advantage of securing all-year training under any climatic conditions. Tennis Regular can drain and dry very quickly and allows for playing even after a heavy rain. Tennis Regular ensures perfect controlled bounce, excellent traction on the court, and stable playing surface.

As a specialized artificial grass brand, it aims to provide the correct artificial turf surfaces for various sport and entertainment fields, including soccer, tennis, rugby, baseball, landscaping, and golf, in accordance with the changing needs of the facility managers, the players and the private customers.

Flex Court is specially designed for professional tennis courts at tournament level (ITF Category 3 Medium). The system consists of ten elastic structure layers in a 100% acrylic latex polymer. The first layer is a resurfacer, then three layers of coarse cushion are applied, followed by three layers of fine cushion and finally three layers of color coat. Special granulometric rubber powder is mixed with pure acrylic resin to create high performance absorbing comfort layers.

Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) commissioned the project, choosing from a large selection of companies and selecting HATKO to be its supplier and installer thanks to our synthetic turf systems with long-lasting quality standards. The project took only 150 days from delivery to installation and was a big success for HATKO.

In March 2013 the largest synthetic grass project in the world was realized not far from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This two-tone landscaping with a surface area of 160,000m2 uses Hatko 40mm landscaping grass.

The landscaping of the traffic intersection close to King Khalid Airport, to the north of the capital of Saudi Arabia, is a sand-strewn field of HATKO 40mm landscaping grass made by monofilament yarn in two shades of green. Bearing in mind that Riyadh registers the highest solar activity in the world, we used a special blend of raw materials to ensure we stay true to our 10-year UV guarantee.

Sustainability/Environment Landscaping Project Gaziantep

Synthetic grass along the railsHATKO’s synthetic grass carpet has been used in a landscaping project in the Turkish city of Gaziantep. HATKO LANDSCAPING grass now graces the city tram line. The quality and natural appearance of the product were contributory factors in the choice of the product. The tram rails in parts of the city now rest on a green bedding of synthetic grass, definitely enhancing the street scene in Gaziantep (South Turkey) in the process. This green area is now known among locals as the Emerald Necklace.Highly appropriate: the tram runs in the form of a green chain running from one end of the city to the other.

The grass system was installed by Hatko Sports Technologies in Turkey. The excellent results led to a sequel. Director Güşan signed a contract for a follow-up order for two new railway lines that have been completed by the end of 2013. With the last phase of the project, we completed the installation of 148.000 sqm in total.

Various areas such as airports, playgrounds, running tracks, refuges, gardens, and terraces can be rendered decorative and useful with the synthetic turf systems. And what is more, there are no maintenance and irrigation costs.

The obvious choice for this project was HATKO’s Bermuda Grass. This synthetic grass carpet was selected because of the quality and realistic look and feel of the material. The synthetic grass carpet developed by HATKO satisfies all the demands of the customer, while the substantial technical support, rapid delivery and installation that could be offered set the seal on the decision. The process from tender to order took merely a week,while the installation of the first phase 67,000 m2 strips - as well as the load-bearing subbase – took no more than 27 days.

Attracting all age groups and requiring high concentration, Paintball has already gone beyond a mere entertainment and become a sport with international tournaments. PSX Paintball Team was previously training on sand; however, in 2007, upon the proposition of HATKO, they replaced their existing fields with our 28 mm synthetic turf. Consequently, they are now able to train for long hours on a cleaner, smoother and more comfortable surface and under all climatic conditions.

Paintsign PSX Paintball Team became champion at Centurio Circuit Paintball League on April 11 to 13, 2008 in Istanbul and on July 25 to 27, 2008 in Moscow. The team was ranked 4th on the overall classification.

HATKO can produce artificial grass carpet of different pile heights from 5 to 65 mm, at gauges of ¾”, 3/8”, 3/16”, 5/8” and 5/16” and of a width of 4 meters. The manufacturing plant has an annual production capacity of 3 million square meters and can quickly deliver any orders. The location and thus logistic capabilities enable the plant to make both maritime and road deliveries all over the world. Installation MaintenanceWithin the system as a whole, the quality of the infrastructure and installation is as important as the quality of the synthetic turf. If the infrastructure is not endurable and smooth, undulations may occur on the surface and may have negative effects on the playing quality. In addition, the material and the drainage system to be used in the infrastructure will vary by the geographic characteristics and the amount of precipitation in the region where the synthetic turf system will be installed. Therefore, each project of synthetic turf field should be carefully considered and designed by an engineer specialized in sport floors.

During the installation, the seams should not be visible. Moreover, for the infill of SBR rubber granules and the sand that ensure shock absorption and stabilization in the synthetic turf, it is necessary to use a system that will not cause vertical deformation on the surface and will ensure the shock absorption without causing energy loss in athletes.

Synthetic turf fields require regular maintenance for a clean outlook. Dirty sport field will lose its attraction to the athletes and will become unpreferable in time. The unmaintained fields may turn extremely dangerous for players. An unmaintained field will not be able to deliver adequate performance required by the specific playing characteristics after a while. The maintenance of synthetic turf field is definitely easier and more affordable than that of the natural turf.

shock absorption by using a prefabricated or in-situ shock

pad and black or PU coated SBR or EPDM infill. In other regions,

we use longer pile height to secure absorption only with different infill

materials (EPDM; black, cryogenic or green coated SBR; TPE and

natural infill). Moreover, HATKO synthetic grass systems could vary by

the characteristics of the related sport. For instance, hockey has a completely

different system of construction than the soccer and American football or

baseball while rugby and IRB need more shock absorption.
