Exploration and Lifecycle Planning
ARCADIS understands that the development of a mine consists of related steps that systematically build upon one another. We develop exploration and mine plans at the beginning of the project that recognizes the potential adverse effects mining can have on the environment. We help assess and document the pre-mining site characteristics and work with mine engineers to design mine facilities that minimize environmental footprint and assist implementing planning and permitting with the post-mining redevelopment/land reuse in mind.

Restoration and Sustainability
The final process of the mine lifecycle is closure. ARCADIS provides closure planning for mines at all stages, keeping post-mining sustainable land use at the forefront. This forward thinking approach allows site-specific solutions to complex systems. We apply our mining technologies to reduce costs for our clients and provide freedom from future remediation responsibilities and regulatory uncertainty. Our goal is to save our clients money, reduce environmental liabilities, and help successfully obtain closure without lengthy post-closure monitoring requirements. Once the business plan is in place and the strategy for regulatory closure is laid out, we think to the future for sustainable use of the land and water holdings.
