    Setup

    Setup Checklist

    1. Connect supply hoses to INOvent delivery system andtherapy gas.

    2. Check cylinders for correct product identity labels and NO

    concentration.

    3. Ensure both cylinders have adequate supply pressure: not

    less than 200 psig / 14 kPa x 100 (bar).

    4. Empty and clean the fluid trap if necessary.

    5. Connect sample line to the INOvent delivery system.

    6. Connect the injector module tubing and electrical cable to

both the INOvent delivery system and injector module.

    7. Connect the manual NO delivery system.

    8. Connect the electrical power cord to an emergency-power-

    backed, hospital-grade outlet.

wCaution: Tubing length downstream of the O2tubing sample tee

must be minimized. The INOvent monitoring systemoperates at pressures up to 70 cm H2O above ambient

at the sample tee. Excessive tubing length can result in

Monitoring Failure alarm from over-pressurization. To

help ensure proper INOvent delivery system operation,

test the circuit configuration before using it.

    Changing Cylinder & Purging Regulator

wWARNING You MUST purge the regulator assembly

immediately before using a new NO cylinder.

wImportant: Replace NO therapy gas cylinder when its

    pressure is < 200 psig / 14 kPa x 100 (bar).

    1. Purge regulator assembly before using new NO therapy gas cylinder:

    a. Determine which regulator assembly is not being used and

requires purging. Cylinder valve should be closed on

    regulator assembly not being used.

    b. On the regulator assembly requiring purging, disconnect the

low pressure hose quick-connect fitting from the NO/N2input on the rear of the INOvent delivery system.

    c. Open the cylinder valve on the new NO therapy gas cylinder.

    d. Close the cylinder valve on the new NO therapy gas cylinder.

    f. Insert low pressure hose quick-connect fitting into purge

    manifold:

    g. Firmly push and hold the quick-connect fitting in place while

the pressure drops to zero on the regulator gauge.

    h. After the pressure drops to zero (about 15 seconds),

reconnect the low pressure hose quick-connect fitting to the

    NO/N2

input on the rear of the INOvent delivery system.

    2. Open the cylinder valve on the new cylinder.

    3. Close the cylinder valve on the empty cylinder and label appropriately.

    4. Replace the empty NO therapy gas cylinder. Leave the cylinder valve

on the replacement cylinder turned off until needed.

    5. Purge the regulator assembly immediately before use.
