    The Ford Focus ST has always been a source of practicality,

    affordability and performance. Its the sort of car that your wife would let

    you buy and you would be happy to own, that was until the green party

    killed it off. The eco warriors got their way yet again and sealed the

    STs fait by banishing it from being sold within Europe. But never fear

    as Ford has just officially announced the all-new Focus ST for next

    year! They were so excited about it that they have let details slip a day

    before its debut.

    We still stick by what we said when we first saw the car a few weeks

    ago in that it does look like a fish. Despite this it still manages to be

    attractive in a hot-hatch sort of way. This new ASBO inducer is powered

    by a 2.0 litre EcoBoost (BLOODY Eco Nazis!) four cylinder

    turbocharged engine producing 247BHP. So already its looking to give

    the Golf GTI a hard time but with 266 lb-ft of torque and a 6 speed

    manual gearbox it may well come out better in a scrap. Also this little

    trouble maker has some rather high-tech gizmos to combat under steer

    in a powerful front wheel drive car. Torque vectoring is usually found as

    an extra on a Porsche yet here we are with a Ford offering it as

    standard.

    The Audi Quattro is a legend in its own right. It

    introduced all-wheel-drive into rallying, it has

    more racing victories than almost any other car

    that has competed in any form of motorsport andobviously its 80s styling makes it one of the

    coolest things on four wheels. Be it flying through

    the set of Ashes To Ashes or the streets of

    Monaco this car is a household name, and a

    name that Audi has used on every car since. The

    Quattro retired from service in 1991 leaving an 11

    year legacy and since that day petrol heads have

    been crying for a comeback. Well cry no more as

    I am ecstatic to tell you that the Quattro is back!

    Audi have produced this for its 30th anniversary of

    the original car, named the Quattro Concept it is

    based on the Audi S5 but my goodness there has

    been a lot of tinkering going on. The wheelbase is

    much shorter and that muscular bodywork brings

    the original screaming into the 21st century. It

    weighs in at just under 3000 pounds and has a

    turbocharged inline five cylinder engine. It getsbetter as it makes the driver get their hands dirty

    with a 6 speed manual and none of this electronic

    DCG nonsense. 408BHP is the figure Audi has

    given us as well as an amazing 354 lb-ft or torque

    to match its temperament of a 40:60 set-up.

    This is just a concept for now but kick up enough

    fuss and I would put money on Audi putting it into

    production in some form or another.

    e have followed the progress of Citroens 2011

    RC title challenger from its first prototype all the

    y through its development and first testing. In its

    variant it even saw victory on home soil despite

    y being entered into the stage of further tests! The

    3 road car is fantastic and from what we have

    en of the car that is replacing the aging C4 in the

    RC, it looks to be a worthy successor. After a few

    adowy images Citroen have finally shown the

    rld its latest offering to motorsport.

    Dubbed the DS3 WRC, this seductive looking hatch

    has 300BHP thanks to its 1.6 litre direct-injection

    turbocharged engine. It has the industry standard

    four-wheel-drive layout and to accompany it a 6

    speed sequential gearbox. Snowy Sweden is set to

    be the cars introductory event in 2011. Two teams

    Sbastien Loeb / Daniel Elena and Sbastien Ogier /

    Julien Ingrassia have already been confirmed.

    ly titles. It punched well above its weight and put

    ny much bigger names to shame, so the badge

    s a deep history within the sport to say the least.

    ni is returning to the WRC next year with its

    untryman based car. We have seen sketches and

    derings of it but here at the Paris motor show the

    shed product has been made public.

    Named the Mini WRC very creative this 1.6 litre not

    so mini Mini will be contending with the big boys

    come next seasons opening in Sweden. Prodrive,

    who maintained the Subaru WRC cars, will be doing

    the same for this car and so the company feel

    confident that they have a competitive car. Naturally

    it has all the rally gadgets you can shake a stick at

    but that may be all well and good, still doesnt make

    the car a looker. In truth it looks like a van.

    r weeks now Lamborghini have teased us with

    e snippets of something big it is bringing to the

    ris motor show. Dripping us little pieces of

    ormation to keeps us salivating whilst they batheour ignorance, we hate it! But thankfully help is at

    nd as this mystery car has been revealed at the

    ris motor show. So is it the much anticipated

    urcielago replacement? Well no, but you wont be

    appointed

    is is the Lamborghinis latest concept, the Sesto

    emento (sixth element.) It appears to be the

    ecursor of what will one day become the new

    llardo. With looks like a military grade nuclear

    apon this car claims to be capable of 0-62MPH in

    t 2.5 seconds with its mid-mounted V10. The

    tensive use of carbon fibre means that the Sesto

    emento is extremely light and it is this that aids it in

    lightning acceleration and top speed of

    217.5MPH. Total value of mass? Just 999KG and

    pair that with 570BHP it is going to make for quite

    the experience behind the wheel.

    This is what Lamborghini had to say: The

    This Italian company have really outdone

    There you have it, all the best bits of the 2010 Paris motor show

    in a convenient Inside Lane shaped package. This year has

    been one of the best for new car launches and unveilings

    bringing surprise after surprise. 2011 will have to be quite special

    to trump it but nevertheless we shall be there. Normal service isresumed next issue!
