Rock or Water County? | Luverne, MN
Minnesota has had a wet spring, but this June16th put Rock County Implement under water. Instead of green grass as an
outdoor equipment showcase Rock County Implement in Luverne is sporting a lake after four inches of heavy rain fell.
The spillway connected to a
77-year-old dam gave way
and broke. It was the first
time in the history of the dam
that water rushed through the
area leaving many under wa-
ter. While many roads have
been closed including por-
tions of I90 the employees at
the store are busy cleaning
up.
Despite Tornado, Thunderstorm, and Flash Flood warnings 25 strong willed women came through the front door to
attend our second annual Ladies Night at Tri-County Implement in St. James. Each lady registered and then received
an indoor gardening tool set for attending. From there they were welcomed to the showroom to get some food to
munch on. Taylor Morgan, Service Technician, did a wonderful job going around the mower explaining mower
maintenance prior to starting up for the season. Becky Sandmeyer, owner of Creative Touch Floral, talked about when
to transplant plants and what you need to know about watering your outdoor plants. With the torrential rain outside we
stayed indoors but created an obstacle course where the ladies maneuvered around on a lawnmower all with a spoon in
their mouth and an egg on the spoon! We did not have many egg fatalities because these ladies could drive! The
evening was a complete success even with Mother Nature’s huge tantrum! Thank you to all the Tri-County employees
who pitched in to help make this an evening to remember!!

Amazing Places | Yankton, SD
On Sunday, June 8th, the city of Yankton held an event called Amazing Yankton. This event included families and businesses
showing and teaching children about different ways of life. At Fred Haar Co., Yankton, we gave numerous rides for two and a
half hours to people of all ages. People took turns on a 4WD tractor, a combine, and a Gator. Joe Lyle. Sales Rep, and Don
Wolf, Store Manager, helped with the event and offered rides to attendees. People came from as far away as Sioux Falls, Mis-
sion Hill, Yankton, Tabor, Scotland, Aberdeen SD, and Crofton, Nebraska to participate. Everyone was having fun and learn-
ing a lot and the expressions on the faces of those attendees was absolutely priceless.
On Friday, June 13, Pipestone County Implement held its Lawn & Turf Expo at the
dealership. Kyle O’Toole, Sales Rep, and Ryan Tibbs, Parts Manager, tag-teamed the
duties of coordinating the event. Mitch Hartle, Detail Specialist, made everything
gleam and shine, detailing every mower and utility tractor on the lot for the event.
Despite the superstitious date, we had a great turnout. More than 30 people attended the
event and had the opportunity to demo mowers and take advantage of special discounts
on mower parts, attachments, Stihl, and
Honda products. Hotdogs, chips, and pop
were served at the event. Four mowers, a leaf
blower, and dozens of hotdogs left the lot as a
result of the event.
Madison County Implement, Rexburg, ID, held their
combine expo on June 10th. Featured were a 9600,
STS, and S series combines to fit different needs in
the area. The customers enjoyed going to the stations
of their choice such as combines, harvest parts, solar
power, lawn and garden, Goharvest App, and the
featured ride and drive of an S series combine with a
machine sync grain cart. Each of the display sites
were manned by service and parts employees. After the expo station visits our customers stayed and visited around a taco, rice
and bean lunch. Our AMS quick response team all rode their bikes to the expo and did a great job showing off machine sync.

Special Guests | St. James, MN
Father Thien Nguyen (Thin Win), his sister, brother-in-
law, two aunts and an uncle were in St. James for Father’s
25th ordination to the priesthood. While in St. James, they
came out to tour Tri-County Implement in St. James. They
were amazed at the size of the equipment and had many
questions about the use of the machines. They took quite a
few pictures including a picture of Father and his sister
sitting in the wheel of the combine. At the end of their
visit the guys were each given a shirt and coffee mug and the women were given a coffee mug and a bag. Great souvenirs
to take back home. They were very appreciative of the hospitality offered to them from Tri-County Implement in St. James.
Tom Craighill retired as the Parts Manager from Yellowstone
County Implement, Billings, MT, May 29th after 40 + years of
service with John Deere. An early retirement party was held
during the Aftermarket sales meeting in Jackson (pictured
right) but the store celebrated for 3 days inviting customers in
to reminisce with Tom & to wish him
well. Michele Green and Robin Sian
created a picture documentary in the
form of a quilt that was presented to
Tom on the night of his store
retirement party.

On June 19th , Walworth County Implement, Selby, SD, along with SDSU Extension Service held a Farm Safety Day. There
were about 70 participants from surrounding communities in attendance. This beneficial Farm Safety Camp taught the older
kids about animal safety, power line safety, fire and emergency services, boating and ATV safety, and chemical and grain bin
safety. Tyler Hanten, Sales, did a demonstration on mower and string trimmer safety. Everyone was able to learn something
new. Thanks go out the Selby Lions, SDGF&P, Northern Plains, CHS, Mobridge Vet Clinic, Precision Ag, Cam-Wal and
SDSU Extension service for all their help in making this a success.
WCI also hosted a Day of Play along with the safety event and master chef Jim Cronin, Parts Manager, spent his time cooking
for everyone who wanted to eat! The Day of Play was the second one that WCI has done, and was a huge success this
year. Over 25 kids showed up for the Day of Play, along with their parents. Plans are already being coordinated for next
year’s event!

new showroom. With the help of dedicated employees the showroom is gleaming!
Kids Day | Selby, SD
Ladies gathered at Tri-County Implement in Jackson for their first annual ladies night. Ladies had
the opportunity to shop, taste, and learn from demonstrations going on
throughout the night. Gayle Dunker, from Seasonal Spruce Ups gave the
ladies some tips on how to spiff up their landscape in less time. Eric Edlin,
Tri-County’s Service Manager, taught the ladies how to get their lawn trac-
tors ready to mow for the season. While Jason Ruggless, Parts Manager,
demonstrated the miracles John Deere’s carpet cleaner is capable of on a
filthy car mat. Tying landscaping with lawn mower maintenance flowed
nicely. We noticed we had high sales in the featured items like the battery
maintainer and carpet cleaner.
