Innovative business people work collaboratively and with an open source mindset. The Office Space actively creates an opportunity for the exchange of their ideas – through both our physical shared work environment and our program of events and activities.

Insight by The Office Space is a monthly talk series hosted at the Golden Age Cinema within Paramount House in Surry Hills.

Each month, we select and invite three successful and inspiring entrepreneurs across various fields including commerce, design and technology to discuss the evolution of their business strategies and brand, under a common theme.

Over the past 12 years of providing exceptional shared office environments, The Office Space have actively supported over 500 small business enterprises and sole traders across many industries. We have witnessed brilliant ideas grow into fully-fledged, positive and successful ventures, so Insight is our way of sharing these and the broader business community’s remarkable stories.

The Office Space is a boutique serviced office concept in Sydney’s Surry Hills founded by husband and wife duo Boris and Naomi Tosic.

An award-winning builder, Boris creates shared spaces of exceptional quality and undeniable beauty. Under Naomi’s strategic direction, properties evolve beyond beautiful working environments to become important places of innovation and accomplishment. She continues to service and engage workplaces and workforces through the brand and new commercial partnerships.

The Office Space actively champions community – specifically the business community of solo, small and medium-sized enterprises

and Sydney’s wildly creative inner city neighbourhoods. We have implemented numerous good will community and cultural initiatives, such as our local GUIDE showcasing the best places to Drink and Dine plus things to Do in Surry Hills, our monthly PROFILE “small business stories” video series (uploaded onto our News & Events blog), our EQUIP business platform for partnerships and offers with companies such as Apple and Qantas (offered monthly to our office residents), and Insight, our monthly small business lecture series.

Insight by The Office Space is a monthly talk series, now completing its second full-year program, that brings together innovative entrepreneurs and business leaders to share their stories relating to a particular theme at the Golden Age Cinema in Surry Hills.

The invited guest speakers are interviewed by Naomi Tosic to discuss in detail the evolution of their business strategies and brand. It is a great platform to position them as thought leaders and to promote their business to an audience of peers, colleagues and potential future clients. The speakers are invited to share their personal successes and reflect upon the challenges they have faced. We also encourage them to discuss their current projects and future goals with the audience. Since June 2016

we began filming our evenings to provide greater enduring content sharing and exposure for the Insight brand and speakers.

Insight is held on the last Monday of each month, commencing at 5:30pm for drinks and canapés in the Golden Age Bar (providing a chance for speakers to mingle with guests) for a 6pm -7.15pm discussion in theadjoining Golden Age Cinemawhich consists of 3x15 minuteindividual Q&A’s hosted by The

Office Space Director, Naomi Tosic. The event concludes with an invitation to the audience to ask questions to the panel. The theatrette holds x 60 people and is an intimate space which contributes to a relaxed and more personal and revealing level of discussion. The audience comprises The Office space residents and incredible entrepreneurs and small business operators generally living and working in the creative mecca of Surry Hills and its immediate surrounds.

business owners & decision-makers• start ups & entrepreneurs • proactive professionals• thought-leaders and influence

In the lead up to the Insight event, each speaker and their business will be profiled across The Office Space’s social media channels, as well as The Office Space’s monthly News & Events blog and within our fortnightly newsletter EDM. In addition to our 300+ physical and virtual business clients, we have an active and growing audience of over 8,000 followers and subscribers. To help us further promote each edition of Insight, we ask our speakers to post their involvement on their digital channels. To make this process as simple as possible, we provide them with image sets, copy and direction as needed.

To boost the profile of our events (via association and promotional channels) we participate, where relevant, in major Sydney programs such as the Vivid Ideas Festival (May 2015 and 2016), Spectrum Now Festival (Nov 2015 and March 2016) and this years’ Sydney Architecture Festival (October 2016).

We choose monthly topics that are relevant to cultural and commercial events such as International Womens’ Day, the Sydney Film Festival and Good Food Month plus business calendar highlights such as the new financial year.

We have also forged a close partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art Young Ambassadors program with whom we co-operated with on an Insight event this October for their members to attend. We will curate two similar events in our 2017 program for their continued support and patronage.

Program Evolution

The vision for Insight is to be the premier monthly event for creative and

professional business people living and working in and around the central,

eastern and inner western suburbs.

We are selecting themes that are relevant and will ignite compelling debate and discussion.

We are strategically inviting more notable speakers with high profiles and a strong social media platform

so they too can cross-promote the event. We are implementing active outreach

to promote the event through our own channels, and external avenues (e.g. Broadsheet Sydney,

Time Out, Concrete Playground, What’s On).
