What’s New At The Shop 4
Inside this issue:
The date on this newslet-ter is laughable….I tried to be timely but with all the busy-ness surrounding Market, the ordering, set-ting up for an in-shop re-view, re-ordering, it took every last minute of my time. On top of that was a mad rash of customer framing that I needed to attend to. My Tuesday stitch group is just cranking out those finished projects! I hope this newsletter finds you busily stitching away, whether on old or new designs. I know there has been a plethora of fabu-
lous new charts recently released that it’s hard to de-cide which one to start next. I have been making good progress on
my Mary Garry piece I show-cased in the January newsletter. I took a little break from working on it to whip up a Prairie Grove candle mat for an upcoming class on
finishing the candle mat. I am almost finished with the stitch-
ing and then it’s back to the Orphan Sampler. I am also ashamed to say I have not even taken the Immi-
grant Sampler out of the bag to even set in one stitch. That was my chal-lenge
piece that the Tuesday night group chose for me
to complete in 2011. Well, I do have nine months left?! Definitely it is next on my agenda! I hope you are enjoying the burst of Spring. May your stitching continue to bud and grow while you cultivate your own needle-work project garden!

Celebration of Needlework Midwest!!!
Woohoo! We have been
begging Pam of Celebra-
tion of Needlework to bring
the stitching festival back
to the Midwest. You may
remember that there was a
Louisville, Kentucky show
a few years ago. The show
dates could not be sched-
uled with
that par-
ticular
hotel so it was back to a
New Hampshire-only show.
Get your calendars and
block out the dates—
September 16/17/18, 2011!
Bring your stitching bud-
dies and get ready
for a Celebration of
FUN! The show will
be held at the Embassy
Suites in St. Charles, MO.
Stay tuned for further de-
tails. We’ll keep you up-
dated as soon as we know
more information.
Buds, birds and new births. Spring!

with Soie d’Alger silks. A silk
kit is also available.
Also on it’s way to the
shop is the latest in the
Pocket Winder series,
Painted Turtle Pocket.
Stitch the colorful pocket
and then on the back, watch as
the turtles go round and round to
find their way out of the
garden maze! Of course,
the pocket wouldn’t be com-
plete without the adorable
Turtle Winder. Add the
Turtle Pin for a complete
set!
Reserve your designs to-
day! They are due in the shop
the week of April 11th.
Nan has done it again
with a new Limited Edi-
tion Series, debuting with
Emma & Eliza. Stitch the
story of the two sisters
and their gardening hab-
its as you fill in each
band. Your chart con-
tains embellishments.

Brenda Gervais of Country
Stitches/With Thy Needle has em-
barked on a new series due out
soon. This new Birds of a Feather
Mystery Sampler Club will be dis-
tributed by Norden Crafts and re-
leased in three installments.
The first installment, to be re-
leased May 10, will include the bor-
der pattern for the original Birds of
a Feather design, the Weeks Dye
Works Linen (this is the color; a
light neutral color) fabric and 18
skeins of Weeks Dye Works floss.
All you have to choose is the count
fabric you prefer, 30, 35 or 40
count. The second installment, due
out June 10, will have
half of the inside por-
tion of the sampler,
followed by the remain-
der of the sampler pat-
tern on July 10. These
last two parts will con-
tain the patterns only.
If you are not a linen stitcher, we
have an alternative for
you! I’m going to find a
comparable evenweave (28
count) or aida (14 count)
for you to stitch on so you
won’t be left out of the
Club! Just mention your
fabric preference when you
sign up.
This will be an automatic and only
available to those that have signed
up for the Mystery Sampler Club.
Don’t miss out on the fun! Sign up
today by calling the shop (630-243-
9620) or sending an email
Brenda never fails to amaze us
with her creativity and this
Sampler Club will not disap-
point.
Stay tuned for a Mystery Sam-
pler Club date in May to get
together with other members
and to get started on our samplers!
Summer Alphabet is next in the
seasonal series. It’s chock full of
sunflowers, garden and beach
scenes with tiny seashell and
charm embellishments.
Land That I Love is a twist on an
old design. Linda will be updating
this classic for a fresh version and
Following up with the remaining
three Halloween Rules Double Flip
charts, L*K will be shipping Mind

gift for that first-time home

Just in time for Spring, there
are five new Wedge-
wood Eggs. Stitch one
or all five designs on
the blue color as shown or

minds you of
Spring. Next in the
seasonal tree series
is Winter Wonder, a
striking blend of
wintry-blue shades
accented by shimmery ice. See
this and the Autumn Jewel tree
along with many other wonderful
models on display through the
month of April.
Now in the shop is a trunk
show by Handblessings.
Designer Eileen Gurak has
a wide and varied collec-
tion of designs to satisfy
even the most discriminate
stitcher.

New charts from
Nathalie at Jardin
Prive arrived at the
shop, Sampler au Bou-
quet I and Sampler aux
Bouquets II. On the
back of the second part,
there is a picture of a
gorgeous sampler, with
both parts and a just-
released third part. In-
cluded with part II and
part III are “filler” de-
signs, used to join the
three parts together.
Stitch one part, or stitch two and
hang them side by side. Stitch all
three parts separately and hang
those in a grouping on your wall.
Or, stitch as shown in the bottom
right photo and put all on one
piece of linen or evenweave. The
stitch count of all three
parts combined is 472 w x
104 h. Wouldn’t this
sampler be grand hung
over a queen-sized bed?
Nathalie’s charts are
designed in DMC and
she includes ranges of
colors for pinks, greens
and blues. It will be so
easy to customize
this design
for your pre-
ferred color
scheme in
either cotton
or silk. If
you would
like assis-
tance in
convert-
ing the
colors,
please feel
free to ask!
