session with Karen Mont-
gomery from the Quilt
Company in Pittsburgh and
Janet Lutz, the creator of
Row by Row in New York!
It was a great trip and we
brought back many new
ideas, patterns, and bolts of
fabric. Come & see!
Thank you to all that par-
ticipated in this year’s PA
Row by Row Shop Hop. It
was a great first year ex-
perience! There will be BIG
news about next year’s
event. Details will be re-
leased at the beginning of
the new year.
Summer’s end brings with it
many changes—weather, activi-
ties, and train of thought. While
we’ve all been busy with travel,
home chores, canning, and the
list goes on; it is now time to
begin thinking of fall and the
holidays. Gift making is a big
part of a quilter’s holiday plans.
How many are on your list this
year? Don’t wait till “check it
twice” time!
The Sewing Box will again spon-
sor the Quilt Display and Sale at
the Scarecrow Festival on Sep-
tember 21st. See the back page
Summer’s Over Already? for details. The
Kiwanis Club will
be organizing the
festival this year
and are adding
some fun activities
for the children and young at heart.
This is a great fall festival, so make
plans now to attend!
In mid-August Diane and I jour-
neyed to Toledo, OH for a vendor
open house. They sponsored a
Creative Grids workshop that was
excellent! There have been 6 new
rulers released recently. We were
able to learn how to use them from
the designers. In addition we par-
ticipated in an evening networking
The Fabric Rack
Elizabeth Studios must
have had Somerset County in
mind when they designed
Headin’ Home. The barns,
covered bridges, and rail
fence rows have a perfect
country look and feel for a
down home project.

will be perfect
for the upcoming fall
season. Most of us have an
outdoorsman in our life
that would enjoy this
addition to their man cave.

Let’s not leave out our
