Installing a Star Desktop Bluetooth Printers on Windows OS

Introduction Application Note Number: 259 This application note shows how to install a Star Desktop Bluetooth printer (E.G. TSP654IIBI) on a Windows OS. Supported Printers: TSP650IIBI, TSP700IIBI, TSP800IIBI, SP700BI Supported Environments: Windows 7 (32/64bit) Windows 8 (32/64 bit), Windows 10 (32/64 bit) Star Tools needed: StarPRNT Printer Utility V3.2 or higher (from the Star Micronics Global Support Site) Star Video: How to Pair Star Bluetooth with Windows Table of Contents I. I. Pairing Bluetooth Printer 1. Turn the printer on and confirm the printer has a solid green light for power.

2. On the back of the printer, hold the pair button for about 5 seconds or until the green light starts to blink

and then let go.

Note: The green LED will continuously blink, which means there is 60 seconds to pair.

3. Go to Device and Printer, and click on Add a device.

4. Select the printer (Star Micronics) and click Next.

5. Windows will confirm the connection was successfully.

6. Congratulations, your Star Bluetooth Printer has successful been paired, please proceeded to Step II. Installing Bluetooth Printer.

II. Installing Bluetooth Printer Note: The StarPRNT Driver should already be installed. If not, please download and install from Star Micronics Website.

1. The Bluetooth Printer is now paired to the computer.

2. Right-click on the printer and go to Properties.

3. Click on Hardware tab and make sure there was a port created for you. (E.G. COM4 is listed here).

4. Open the Printer Utility StarPRNT.

5. Select your printer model (E.G TSP654II) for printer model and click on Next.

6. Select Bluetooth as printer interface. Choose the port that was created (E.g. “COM4”). Once completed,

click on Done.

7. Enter what printer name you want. Click OK.

8. Click on Windows Printer Queue Management.

9. Click on Add.

10. Re-enter the name you want for the printer, and click on OK.

11. The printer will now be listed there, so click Test Print. A windows test page will print to the printer.

12. Go to Devices and Printer, and the printer listed there.

NOTE: Please do not delete Star Micronics paired device, as it is needed for printing.

13. Congratulations, your Star Bluetooth Printer has been successful installed.
