Guiding the ProfessionAs the professional body for risk management, IRM sits at the heart of the risk profession. We lead on developing standards, building skills, cultivating talent and championing learning. We support individuals and organisations to improve their performance through building risk management capability and healthy risk cultures.

Code of conductOur code of conduct sets out the principles and standards of behaviour we expect of members when they perform their professional duties. These requirements are for all members, regardless of your membership category, the role you fulfil or where you are employed. You are expected to exercise your own judgement to meet these requirements, and to seek advice if in doubt.

Thought LeadershipOur Thought Leadership programme examines crucial current and future issues facing the risk management profession.

We contribute to national and international committees, government bodies, research projects, consultations, standard setting bodies and other risk initiatives. Your IRMWe are always looking for members to get involved, share their experience and expertise and promote the work of the institute to business, government and other risk leaders. By becoming more involved with IRM, you can develop new skills, raise your profile and widen your network of professional contacts, whilst at the same time giving something back to the profession.

Getting involvedReports, publications and briefing papers We publish our own work and collaborate with other relevant institutes, associations, government bodies and corporate partners on joint projects. If you have any publications that you think members will benefit from accessing and you have permission to share them, we would like to hear from you and add them to our online resource centre.

Examining With over 600 students a year from over 100 countries, we are constantly looking for volunteers to support us in marking assessments and supporting students through their studies.
