■The severity of injury or damage that occurs when ignoring instructions and improperly using the cleaner is classified and explained below.

● Do not disassemble, repair, or alter.Doing so may cause leaking, heat generation, fire, or injury. For repairs, please consult with the Hitachi authorized service agent.

● Keep the body and charging station away from water and other liquids. The battery may rupture and cause the product to catch fire or malfunction.

● Do not connect the contacts of the body and charging station with metal objects. Do not carry or store with metal necklaces, hairpins, etc. The battery may short-circuit and cause leaking, heat generation, rupturing, or fire.

● Do not throw into fires or apply heat.The internal battery may rupture and cause fire.

Be sure to follow these directions.

● Use AC 100-240V socket.● Periodically wipe off dust, etc. from the plug with a dry cloth.● Make sure to fully insert the plug.● Disconnect the plug from the socket when performing charging station maintenance. If the cord is damaged, it must only be replaced by the Hitachi authorized service agent in

order to avoid a hazard.● Do not damage the cord.

[Do not damage, tamper, unreasonably bend, pull, twist, tuck, or place heavy objects on the cord, etc.]● Do not use damaged cords and plugs, or loose socket.● Do not let the cord get caught in the rotating rotary brush.● Do not insert or disconnect with wet hands. Do not touch the contacts of the charging station and body.● Do not charge using a combination other than the included charging station and body.● Do not use the included charging station to charge other types of rechargeable

● During charging, the stick cleaner with the charging station must be placed in a well ventilated area.

● Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.● This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

● Only allow children at least 8 years old to use the charging station. Give sufficient instruction so that the child is able to use the charging station in a safe way and explain that it is not a toy and must not be played with.

● Instruct the child not to try and recharge non-rechargeable batteries because of the danger of eruption.

● Examine the charging station regularly for damage, especially the cord, plug and enclosure. If the charging station is damaged, it must not be used until it has been repaired.

How to chargeThe battery is not sufficiently charged at the time of purchase. Please charge it before use.(Charge time is approx. 3.5 hours.)

● If the indicator lamp does not turn on in red or if it immediately turns off, lift the body and set it on the charging station again.● When you use the cleaner for the first time or when you have not used it for a long period of time, make

sure to charge it before use because the operating time may be shorter or charge time may be longer.● When charging the cleaner near a radio, the radio may be interrupted by noise or the radio program

may be difficult to hear. When charging, place the charging station 2 m or more away from the radio and use separate sockets.

● If you remove the body from the charging station while the indicator lamp is off and then set it on the charging station again, the indicator lamp will turn on, which is normal.

● The standard charge time is approx. 3.5 hours. However, the charge time may vary depending on usage.● The body or charging station may become hot while charging, which is normal.● The body will not operate even if the control button is pressed while charging.

Set the body on the charging station while the body is propped up, and insert the charging station protrusion into the attachment groove of the body.

The charging status is indicated by the indicator lamp.

The battery is charging.The temperature of the battery changes depending on the usage conditions, such as surrounding temperature and operating time.When the battery is hot, the cleaner will automatically go into standby until the temperature is suitable for charging, which may prolong the charging time.

Charging is complete (fully charged).When charging is complete, it turns off.

When there is a problem, the indicator lamp flashes in red, or alternately flashes in red and green.→(P.E-28)

Also, for proper use, please read the Note in the main text thoroughly.

● Do not subject the power head to strong physical shock.Doing so may cause deformation or damage.

● Do not vacuum the following objects.Failure to do so may cause abnormal odors or malfunctions.• Water or liquids • Wet objects • Desiccants (moisture absorbents) • Large amounts of sand or powder • Long threads • Glass

● Make sure to charge when you are finished cleaning, regardless of the operating time.● If you will not use the cleaner for a month or more, fully charge and store it, and charge it once a year.

(Storing it when there is no remaining battery level will cause the battery performance and life to deteriorate.)● If the battery is depleted and operation stops during cleaning, the cleaner may be operable for a short while by

pressing the control button again. However, do not repeat this procedure. The battery life will shorten.● Charge in areas where the room temperature is between 5°C and 35°C. The battery may not charge properly in

places of low temperature, or places of high temperature such as under direct sunlight. (The operating time may be shorter, or the charge time may be longer.)

● Do not ride on the body, nozzle, or the charging station.Doing so may cause malfunctions.

● Thoroughly air dry parts washed with water.Failure to do so may cause abnormal odors or malfunctions.

● If the liquid inside the battery attaches to your skin or clothes, wash them with clean water such as tap water immediately, and then consult a doctor.Failure to do so may cause skin rashes.

WARNING● Do not use the battery if it is leaking or has an abnormal odor, discoloration,

deformation, or damage due to being dropped. Doing so may cause heat generation, rupturing, fuming, or fire. The liquid may cause damage if it attaches to the floor.

● Keep away from infants. Failure to do so may cause electric shock or injury.

For maintenance of the safety switch → (P.E-24)

When you lift the power head from the floor, the safety switch activates and the rotary brush stops rotating for your safety. During the "High" operation, the power of the body is reduced to minimize the power consumption.

To prevent damage to the floor, move along the grain of the flooring.● When cleaning a new tatami, its surface may become polished.● If dust remains on the floor after pulling the power head towards yourself, lift the

power head and vacuum again.

Clean by moving back and forth. You can collect dust thoroughly when pulling back.When cleaning a new carpet for the first time, the cleaner may collect many loose threads.

You can clean proficiently by moving the power head back and forth across floor.

Risk of damage to the floor.Do not leave the power head in the same position during operation.Do not firmly press the power head against the floor.● The floor may be damaged if it is easily damaged especially

such as cypress or padded flooring*.*Padded flooring is flooring where the surface is cushioned using vinyl chloride, etc.

● Firmly pressing the power head against uneven surfaces such as thresholds may wear out the wheels and damage the floor.

Risk of damage to the floor.● If dust gets tangled in the wheels, the wheels cannot rotate, which may

cause wear and tear and floor damage. Please do periodic maintenance (about once a month). → (P.E-24, E-25)

● When the brushes, wheels, rotary brush, or roller are worn out, please consult with the dealer where you purchased the cleaner as soon as possible. Using the power head while they are worn out may damage the floor. (We recommend replacing the brushes, wheels, rotary brush, and roller at the same time.) → (P.E-24, E-25)

The operation may be difficult depending on the floor type. In such a case, switch to the "Standard" operation.

CAUTION

It is an extendable nozzle with a fine tip that can reach far above furniture and into crevices.

- To remove the multi angle wide brush, fully extend the extendable multi angle wide brush and pull it strongly.

The multi angle wide brush can be attached to either side.

Turning the handle changes the orientation of the power head. Then, you can smoothly clean narrow placessuch as crevices.

during operation. The extendable multi angle brush may shorten suddenly.

● When shortening the extendable multi angle brush, do not hold the uneven part of the inner pipe. Your hand may get pinched.

● When changing the angle, do not hold the rotating section. Your hand may get pinched.

● Do not rotate while your fingers are inserted into the inlet of the multi angle brush. Your fingers may get pinched.

● When using the extendable multi angle wide brush, note the following points.Do not add excessive force. Doing so may result in damage.- Do not use it to clean the floor.- Do not let it fall or add excessive force in the

direction of A .- To change the length, do so pressing the length

adjustment button.- To change the angle of the inserting side, do so pressing the angle adjustment button.

● You can wash the inlet of the extendable multi angle wide brush with water. After washing, thoroughly air dry before use. Vacuuming water may result in damage.

● If fibrous dust clogs the end or interior of the multi angle wide brush, suction power is reduced, so remove the dust.
