The California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA) is an organization of

county governments working to improve mental health outcomes for individuals,

families and communities. Prevention and Early Intervention programs implemented

by CalMHSA are funded by counties through the voter-approved Mental Health

Services Act (Prop 63). Proposition 63 provides the funding and framework needed

to expand mental health services to previously underserved populations and all of

California’s diverse communities. The CCI-Integrated Behavioral Health Project was

funded under the CalMHSA Stigma and Discrimination Reduction program to

improve access to health, mental health, and substance use services across

California.

The Greater Bay Area Mental Health & Education Workforce Collaborative (the

Collaborative) represents many different counties, agencies, organizations, and

institutions, all committed to expanding the Greater Bay Area's public mental health

workforce. The Collaborative is a project of the California Institute for Mental Health

(CiMH) in partnership with the Greater Bay Area County Mental Health Directors,

Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services and the Office of Statewide Health

Planning & Development (OSHPD). Funding is provided through the Mental Health

Services Act (MHSA – Prop 63) and the Zellerbach Family Foundation.

The California Institute for Mental Health is a non-profit public interest corporation

established for the purpose of promoting wellness and positive mental health and

substance use disorder outcomes through improvements in California’s Health

System. CiMH is dedicated to a vision of “a community and mental health services

system which provides recovery and full social integration for persons with

psychiatric disabilities; sustains and supports families and children; and promotes

mental health wellness.”

Created in 1990, CalSWEC is a consortium of the state’s accredited social work

graduate schools, all county departments of social service and local mental health

departments, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), the California

Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, the County Welfare Directors

Association (CWDA), the California Mental Health Directors Association (CMHDA),

and foundations. It is the nation’s largest coalition of its kind working together to

provide professional education, student support, in-service training, and workforce

evaluation research—all directed toward developing effective, culturally competent

public service delivery to the people of California.

The mission of the Zellerbach Family Foundation is to be a catalyst for constructive

social change by initiating and investing in efforts that strengthen families and

communities.
