Guaranteed CPU and Memory AvailabilityIn host systems, situations of abnormal traffic like Denialof Service (DoS) attacks can severely tax buffer memoryand performance, deplete resources, and ultimately crashthe system. INTEGRITY has been designed with secureaddress spaces and resource guarantees that can be usedto block this type of malicious or unintentional activity.

The TCP/IP stack, or any INTEGRITY network component,may be assigned a fixed budget of memory and CPU timeresources that are guaranteed under any circumstances.

This provides guarantees that the assigned address spacememory will not be exhausted processing network trafficin a DoS, alarm storm, or other abnormal network condi-tion.

Real-Time PerformanceThe INTEGRITY IP stack has been designed specifically forhigh performance and real-time response. Its zero-copyinterface allows the highest possible bandwidth for per-formance critical applications.

In an embedded application, processing network trafficmight not be the most critical event. TheINTEGRITY TCP/IP stack never masks or blocks interrupts,even while manipulating critical data structures, ensuringminimum interrupt latency and deterministic system per-formance, allowing network processing to be suspended atany time to allow higher priority tasks to execute.

SecurityINTEGRITY offers a secure operating system environmentthat enhanced with a range of network security compo-nents (implementations of IETF IPv4 and IPv6 security pro-tocols like SSL, IPSec, and SSH). All these offer securityservices such as encryption, authentication, integritychecking and replay protection. The requirements of theOEM product determine the level of security implemented.

Dual-Mode Protocol StackThe transition from IPv4 to IPv6 will take several years tofinalize. During this period, TCP/IP stacks need to supportboth types of traffic.
