Yours sincerely, Sarwant Singh Managing Partner, Frost & Sullivan

Dear Colleague,

The COVID-19 crisis might have delayed the realization of the mobility industry’s future focused agendas but it has certainly not derailed it. Connectivity, autonomous, shared, electric and digital transformations continue to disrupt and drive the industry. Technology shifts, customer expectations, and industry visionaries will catalyze innovation and growth in a COVID-defined 2020 and beyond.

Connectivity will offer customers the freedom to select and seamlessly add features on demand. New functionalities related to car performance, multimedia, safety and convenience will improve the overall driving experience. “In-vehicle marketplaces” will become exciting new channels of online retail.

Data generated by connected cars, infrastructure and other devices will herald a flood of highly personalized and customized services. For automakers, data monetization models will open up new customer segments and revenue streams.

Autonomous technologies will usher in a driverless revolution, further reinforcing highly individualized in-vehicle experiences. Over time, autonomous fleets managed by mobility providers will boost asset utilization, anchoring an era of shared and accessible mobility.

As electric vehicles take off, identifying appropriate vehicle platform strategies will become critical to realizing the full potential of electrification and future proofing automotive portfolios.

Meanwhile, shared mobility will integrate with other forms of public / private transit, infrastructure and parking to knit together a unified and cohesive Mobility as a Service (MaaS) ecosystem.

Technology-driven changes will also ripple across freight and logistics, supporting cost reductions, productivity improvements, and enhanced asset utilization. New models based on connected and autonomous technologies will decisively upturn traditional supply chain and logistics models.

With the COVID-19 crisis continuing to cause widespread disruption, the second edition of Frost & Sullivan’s flagship Intelligent Mobility Summit 2020 - Japan will be moving online this year. The two-day strategic summit—”Connectivity, Autonomous, Shared, Electric and Digital Transformation Trends”—will feature curated webinars and other online events. It will bring together industry thought leaders, policymakers, investors and innovators on a single digital platform. Participants will be able to virtually access compelling discussions on the complex challenges and opportunities awaiting the mobility industry, from the comfort of their homes / offices. This must-attend digital summit will give attendees the opportunity to network online and gain insights into the future of mobility in a new, post-COVID era.

We look forward to having you at our digital Intelligent Mobility 2020 Summit: Japan.
