Pre-Registration Requirements
• Demonstrate the ability to use a foreign language.
• Present written evidence of having participated in a research project as co-ordinator, or as a participant with concrete tasks to realize in the project.
• Take, and pass, the admission exam (essay on the theme chosen for study) before a specialized committee.
Pre-Registration Requirements
• Have available 20 hours a week so as to be able to accomplish appropriately the course work.
• Present an official document of financing for the Program, or of capacity to pay.
Admission Exam
• This exam will be defined by the Major commission, together with the tutors of the pre-registration candidate, and of his orientation in the respective program.
• The exam will have the goal of demonstrating the fluency and ability of the candidate in the topic to be studied. It will consist of the presentation of a thematic essay before a Comission, covering generalities of the specialty and the theme to be studied.
Requirements for presentation of thesis work
• To have passed the specialty exam.
• To have passed the required and optional courses in the respective major as stipulated in the plan of studies.
• To present written proof accrediting domination of the foreign language.
Requirements for the presentation of thesis
work• Present copies of three scientific articles
already published, or in the process of publication, with the note of acceptance (or a book on the research theme. Inventions, or patents for new technologies, could also be considered).
• Present a minimum of three endorsements of the thesis by specialists in the field, or of national or international institutions related to the theme.
Professional Residencies• The student must spend a period of Residency in a foreign
country,or, if that is not possible, in one of the National universities or institutions, different from his own in the case of university professors, an institution which has development in the field of study.
• This residency should cover a period of 3 to 6 months depending on the situation and the previous co-ordination with the directors of the thesis and the Major-field commission.
• The Program Council for Academic Matters, as well as the Major- field Commission, will work together with the candidate to locate alternatives for the Residency, according to the situation.
Title to be granted• The Doctoral Program will grant the title of Doctor
of Natural Sciences in Development with a major in:
– 1) Systems of Agricultural Production– 2) Management of our Natural Resources– 3) Environmental Management and Culture – 4) Applied Electronic Technologies
• The Doctoral Diplomas will be granted jointly by the participating universities, and by the Committee for Academic Matters.
