Its incredible Carl Cox is in his last season at Space Ibiza hosting his own party called, "The Final Chapter" the Revolution of Tech-no. For many years we have seen the evolution of the event and Carl Cox himself, but I must say that what we are experiencing this summer is his best yet.

Moreover at 2am every week the club is rammed and no one can get in. There is a sign saying full up.

An artist who has always had a faithful following him wherever, he plays, but we must say that his evolution as an artist has been buildling more and more in recent years ..., this year the public has congragated in mass every Tuesday to see this musical genius Carl Cox.

The end of Space Ibiza maybe the end of an era but not , the end of Carl Cox, and surely there will be a few more surprises yet to come.

It is very clear that Carl Cox is already a titan within the Technos-cene something he earned as a person and as an artist ... OH YES, OH YES!!

CLOSING PARTY

SUNDAY, OCTOBER, 9

Page 8: Interac. magxlondon edition 5 2016

The party continues into the early hours for Part 2 at the 02 Academy Liverpool, a brand new venue for the after party hosted by 303. Returning for a rare northern appearance is Timo Mass whose three decade career shows no signs of slowing down, he’ll be joined by DJ/Producer Quivver, special guests DJ duo Dense & Pika and completing the bill is 303 residents Samuel Lamont, Stuart Hodson and Gemma Muir. The philosophy behind The Asylum is refreshingly simple; to build upon the city’s already immense foundations as one of the worlds true bastions of dance music culture and take it to the next level, curating world beating line ups in one of the UK’s most spectacular locations for music.

Following the last two sell out shows, we are pleased to announce The Asylum returns to the Old Newsham Park Hospital in Liverpool on Saturday 29th October for another haunting 13 hour Halloween special. This year’s instalment sees the return of techno legend Sven Vath, renowned as a risk taking visionary and innovator and master creator of the infamous Cocoon parties, he’ll be at the helm performing a very special extended set, joined by one of the hottest techno artists on the circuit, who following an array of famed sets over the last few year and acclaimed productions on Cocoon Recordings, has firmly established himself as a major player - Ilario Alicante. Bringing some northern clout to the proceedings is Tim Green who makes his Asylum debut, his ability to manoeuvre through the realms of house and techno makes his sound unmistakable and completing the bill is Asylum regular Jemmy.

2 great new track by Neil Daruwala on his own imprint 69 Street Records.

This AA side single starts with Open your Mind, a deep tech trip into the human consciousness. Using clever vocal samples, a great hook and some clever drum programming Open your Mind has the potential to be a huge hit.

Another Dream is a vocal led deep house track with special reference to futuristic stabs and un-orthodox rhythm. A perfect track for anyone looking for that something special.

“LET’S DANCE”

Emanuel Satie was the deserved winner of Producer, having had a string of successful releases, whilst Claptone received the kryptonite for House. ANNA’s heavy hitting, yet seductive style of techno saw her collect Breakthrough. The eclectic Mr. Doriswon Ibiza DJ, Newcomer went to Mihalis Safras and after his many years of pushing the scene forward, John Acquaviva took the awards for Electronic Music Pioneer. The biggest cheer or the night went to Carl Cox who picked up not one, but two awards for Techno and International. Space became the first recipient of the newly created Iconic Club Award. Carl’s story has been intertwined with that of Space so it was fitting that the day after the historic club’s closing of Space he presented his long time friend and colleague, Pepe Rosello, with the award.

I t was a night of good vibes and high emotions as many of those who influence

the global dance music scene gathered for the annual DJ Awards celebration at Pacha Ibiza.Des Paul and Lucy Horobin presided over the ceremony as 21 awards were presented. 12 of which were categories that were voted for by the music fans. There was incredible support shown with the number of votes increasing year on year. There were also 9 special awards which were chosen by industry insiders to recognise those who have contributed to the electronic music culture.Anabel Englund wowed the crowd during the awards with a debut of one of her forthcoming tracks, which acted as a taster for what was to come in her extended performance during the party.

PERFECT PITCH

One advantage of having a pitch perfect ear is that it crea-tes an immediate association between the order of the

sounds and its names. This arrangement is a key element of the organization of internal hearing, which is the hearing ba-sis of the absolute and relative. Another psychological advan-tage is to provide some fixing on the eminently mobile field sensitivity.

In practical terms it has the following advantages:1. Quickly recognize the exact height of the notes whenthey listen.2. It allows, through writing, to set the actual height of sounds.3. Facilitates intonation in singing and instruments.4. Facilitates memory.5. It helps to orientate in the modulations.6. It is a great support for virtuosity, for the speed in the de-sign ofsounds.7. Allows to more easily orient themselves in modern works of atonal character. The dangers of absolute hearing are that, from the Psycholo-gically point of view, absolute hearing relates a physiological element (sound) with a conceptual element, the mind (note name) without an emotional element involved, which is cru-cial for music. Another danger is constituted by the fact that favors the detrimental virtuoso’s musicality and expressive-ness. The student runs the risk of singing out of tune, not un-derstanding the relationships between sounds. www.magxlondon.com

3nd PartOften, hearing a sound or a chord the Students can say the name of the notes but can not reproduce vocally the26 sounds, due to auditory imaging unable to create the syn-chronicity between the hearing and utterance. An ear too absolute can prevent from playing a piano tuned too high or low, sing in a choir that has fallen or hear old mu-sic, for example, refined from a different current pitch. In some tonalities, such as sol sharp minor, there may be diffi-culty in saying the name fa double sharp, as its sound matches the sol. Likewise, students with perfect pitch all have difficul-ties with hearing and recognition of harmonic intervals and chords as they move wrong in the field of relations between sounds. They have tested intervallic identification discrimination in which it hasencountered greater difficulty in OA holders aga-inst people without this skill, especially outside the key of C major. Some authors point out the difficulty of many subjects with PP intervals to identify a direct mode.Teplov distinguishes two kinds of absolute pitch assets and liabilities. The perfect pitch liability can recognize the height of the sounds and give them their name. The perfect pitch ear can recognize and reproduce the height of a sound from the indication of its name (or height)

Little history from your beginnings to today ....Hi readers of Magxibz, we are Carlos Vila and Hector Avila, 2 guys that after having the same tastes and a twist of fate, 8 years ago, just putting music together to create our first after party in Ibiza, we feel that we glued musically and we created 2Vilas. We were 2 kids who love music, and we started to get together to create, gradually learning every day.

What is your source of musical inspiration? The truth is that we have a quite extensive source of ins-piration, because our music does not have a set stylel, both as djs or producers. We have influences of 90’s hou-se, since we grew up with that music, Todd Terry, Kenny Dope , Dj Sneak etc ... but also love and feel the influence of techno, which we soaked up much and admire artist like Ricardo Villalobos, Rhadoo, Raresh ...What is your dynamic for B2B sets and producing? From the first day we got together in the studio or the dj booth, we feel we are one, only with 4 hands .... Many ti-mes during our set, we don’t talk, or we sit for hours and study, each with its own inspiration. Everything flows ... we feel very comfortable working with each other. What is your opinion on the future of music and te-chnology?We think it is great that all the new technology is coming out, although we are like our old ways ... We use almost all vinyl in our sets, and in our studio, all the machines are old, we like to work with all analog.Representing the icon for you as dj_productores Ibi-za?For us, ibiza is our home, this is where we have always been, Hector from Ibiza and therefore he has it inside. Car-los is from Mallorca, but has spent many years living in ibiza. Our whole life is here, and all our passion for music comes from across this island.

Following the success of this year’s Creamfields, which saw 70,000 people flock to Daresbury in Cheshire

for one of the biggest weekends in the festival calendar, fans attending witnessed the birth of the ‘Steel Yard’ and we are pleased to announce its return for a very special 10,000 capacity show at Central Docks, Liverpool Waters on the city’s waterfront on Saturday 26th November headlined by one of the world’s biggest electronic acts Axwell & Ingrosso.

With over 10 colossal arenas on site, there was one which dominated the landscape and as their most ambitious production concept to date, the Steel Yard superstructure exceeded all expectations, becoming one of this year’s festival highlights. Designed exclusively for Creamfields and the largest of its kind in Europe, the 20m high structure has undoubtedly redefined festival production as we know it, featuring newly developed automated technology which brought this living, breathing behemoth to life.

‘The Steel Yard presents Axwell & Ingrosso’ is the first of a series of special events planned ahead of the festival’s 20th Anniversary celebrations in 2017 and sees the return of the Creamfields brand to its spiritual home in over a decade.

Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool, said: “Liverpool is synonymous with music and we have a wonderful heritage, but while celebrating the past it is also important to keep our offer fresh and progressive so this is great news. Cream is one of Liverpool’s biggest and most iconic brands and is world famous and has a reputation for pushing the boundaries. So to know that Creamfields is coming back to the city is music to my ears, because this is its spiritual home. Steel Yard is sure to excite many people and my hope is that it is something that can become a regular fixture in the city’s annual music calendar.”Ian Pollitt, assistant project director at Liverpool Waters, said: “Steel Yard is a really innovative concept and having it at Central Docks in Liverpool Waters so close to the river will make it a truly memorable experience for everyone attending. I am delighted that we are working with Cream and able to find them a place on the waterfront, which I hope will become their regular venue for years to come.”

Pre-sale tickets will be available from 10am Thursday 1st September, to register go to http://www.creamfields.com/steelyard. General tickets go on sale 10am Friday 2nd September 2016.
