To make the game
Print the sheets in colour and, to make the game more durable, mount onto card. Cut each of the 2 word pages into half to create 4 bingo player cards. Cut out the 32 small picture & word cards.
To play the game
The game can be played as a traditional bingo game for 4 players and a caller. The words on the small picture cards are called out one at a time: a player with a called word on his/her bingo card claims the small picture card and places it on top of the corresponding word on his/her bingo card. The first player to cover all 8 words wins.
Please note:1. Teachers may find it useful to ask the caller and players to pay particular attention to the phonemes to avoid mixing up words such as cut/cup. 2. The small caller cards have pictures and words, so that: a) the caller does not have to be a fluent readerb) when claiming a card, a player can check that the word on his/her card and the word on the small claimed card correspond.
