I find this Great Room very calming. The darker sofas and rug give the room visual weight while the light walls and ceiling make the room feel airy. The room is proportioned into three distinct living areas which flow into one.

I really like the use of the different shades of blue in the color scheme of this bedroom. The rectilinear lines give this room a masculine feel. I also like the solid bed pedestal, it is a good choice as it adds visual weight to the room.

This room is a wonderful example of how to mix different lines and still have harmony. Although the chairs are curvilinear, they can still be juxtaposed to the geometric pattern on the doors. This makes the room more invigorating, along with the red accent color used throughout the room.

The design in this Asian food restaurant uses different patterns throughout the room to create rythym. The curvilinear motion on the carpet and the angular patterns on the wall would be very busy in a home, but are perfect in a busy restaurant.

I chose this design because of the colors and design elements used. The geometricpattern on the door add some rhythm to a room that is very symmetrical. Radial balance is achieved by the use of the large chandelier over the two settees and coffee table.

I chose this color board because I find the organic colors soothing. The designers use of different textures create a home that is comfortable because it is very tactile. These features make a home unpretentious and livable.

In this room I believe the emphasis would be on the bold art work. The colors will contrast with the white geometric pattern on the wallpaper.I like the subtle use of the curvilinear lines on the table and chair. This willbe a dramatic room for entertaining.

This designer board will create a home almost anyone can live with. The colorsand the smooth surfaces are very soothing. The scale of the furniture is delicatebut the larger solid pieces will provide balance.

I really like the eclectic look of this designer board. The geometric pattern in rug will add contrast to the cream tufted sofa. I thing the form of the coffee tablewith the curvilinear voids on the legs will provide emphasis and the solid black color will ground the room nicely.

I enjoyed most of my assignments, I found the work to be challenging. It has been a good introductionfor me as a re-entry student.

I found that I understood the instruction most of the time. If I didn’t it was usually related to using amac instead of a pc. I think it might be helpful to have occasional classroom time to feel more connectedto the class and to ask any questions we may be having in person.

It has been 10 years since I attended Cuesta so I don’t know what to gauge it to.There may have been a few weeks where I underestimated the time need to complete my work or it was heavier than usual.

My 2 favorite assignments were the the Loft project and color scheme assignment.

My least two favorite were learning the acronyms for the different design organizations andcritiquing my classmates work.

I am computer challenged so I would have to say that doing all the powerpoint presentation and working on our Loft project have been very helpful.

I don’t know if I would have learned everything I have about working with a computer to do my projects in class. But I would have liked to meet my classmates.

The positives and negatives would have to be the same as the previous question. They would be relatedto doing the class online or the traditional classroom setting.

Yes, especially for an on-line class.

I have been interested in Interior Design since I was 10 years old. I would have regretted not pursuing my passion.

Yes, this was my first online class.

Interior Design

Yes, I would like to get an AA in Interior Design.
