The following booklet is a collection of my projects, from my first year to my fourth year in the interior design program at Kent State University. It includes a brief summary of work with photographs such as 3D models from architecture studio I and II,
conceptual development, space planning, construction documents, material selection, and renderings. Not only does it
display my learning development and accomplishments throughout my college career, but the portfolio shows my
driven, passionate attitude towards design.

The Cleveland, Ohio area is in need for a new botanical garden with a lecture hall attached, for visiting speakers. The site was given and located on the Kent State University's southeast campus. After performing thorough research on the site and functions of a botanical garden, a concept was developed and a sketches were created of the projected buildings. With its unique and complex structure, the orchid flower's anatomy was the inspiration for the form of garden's exterior shape. The idea was to mimic the petal's multifaceted arrangement of the veins and skin. From a plan view, the roof of the garden and lecture hall display the petal's make-up in organic forms, using materials such as glass and wood. Also, the buildings were designed for the users to walk from the ground onto the roof of the garden.

Fantasia, a new retail company that is located in Florence, Italy, rented the ground floor of a building in an upscale shopping area and it will be using the space to display the merchandise of the company such as flowers, gardening tools, and ceramic products. Since the site is placed in an urban area, Fantasia hopes to bring a little greenery to the shopping area by possessing an interior as enchanting and beautiful as a garden. The space contains an angular, elevated bridge that runs on the floors and up the walls. It displays different types of flowers and boutiques of the flower section and the bridge acts as a way finder by circulating the customer through the patio, flower and ceramic section in an angular form, around the store.

Being aware of ADA requirements, the built-in, wooden bridge slopes upwards and downwards an inch every foot and is constructed at least 3' wide. The horizontal angular structure portrays the idea of an "interior" garden in a contemporary sense.
Shown in the ceramic rendering, the concept of the linear bridge is represented on the walls of the ceramic sections of the retail space, in a bright red color to complement the flower section. 5

Gravit is a fully staffed law practice and it is located on the 56th floor of the Key Tower Building in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. The law firm is famously known to be an unstoppable force in the court room and recently renovated its office space to reflect the practice's personality. According to the Newton's first law in physics, an object in motion will remain in motion unless provoked by another force. This law of physics or gravity is attitude the firm extrudes and wants to display in their office new space. Through the materials, color scheme, wall and furniture systems, and architectural elements designed in the space, represents the firms as a whole or individual.

fixture design : joann fabric and crafts stores
The Joann's Fabrics and Crafts' small format stores is in need of combining the cutting counter and the checkout register area due to the lack of attention an area might receive from the two employees on duty. The solution to this newly founded problem is a fixture in one vicinity, that can obtain both the tasks of cutting fabric and checking out customers. Adaptable pull-out cutting countertop register fixture was developed and created after thorough research, problem solving, and gathering of information. The new fixture derived from the concept of intertwining or weaving threads to make fabric to integrate the functions of the new fixture. In conclusion, the company would save about five hundred dollars per store and total square footage in the prototypes of Joann's Fabrics and Crafts utilizing this solution.

educational design : caed building
The following project is the design developement of the new the College of Architecture and Environmental Design building, located on the Kent State University campus in Kent, Ohio. The college plans to expand its current programs of architecture, architecture studies, and interior design and needs a new building to house its students and faculty. The new higher-level educational facility will meet the wants and needs of the user's by understanding the current and future learning styles, theories and trends, the design of the shell of the building, and organization of exterior and interior spaces. Since the new age of education is based on student collaboration and technology, the design of the facility will reflect off the concept of natural collaboration's energy being transferred in ecosystems. After observing and researching the chosen site on campus, the exterior and interior of the building will be created to represent a conceptual ecosystem.

A previous project was given to use as a shell for the new design and it was reformed to what is seen to the right. The recreation evolved through the gathering of the knowledge and executing the concept in a sketch of the existing section. A linear or angular approach was taken to absratctly display the concept and have the building interact with its surroundings and climate patterns.

I am an enthusiastically driven, creative, and educated i n d i v i d u a l , who is inspired by nature's behaviors and functions.
I strive to mimic nature's characteristics by designing working interior spaces and being aware of area codes and regulations.
Researching, analyzing, and programming the information and technicalities of the space, to create an environmental friendly
solution is my goal as a designer. I want to form an interior that is aesthetically pleasing and technically correct for my clients
wants and needs. Being devoted and passionate, I am not a designer but I am an interior designer.
