We hear the words of the Apostle Paul who calls us to “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (I ess. 5:16-18) As I reflect upon this, I am drawn to several ways that expressing ‘thanksgiving’ shapes us into the image of Christ. At one level it reminds us of the Presence of God. While the world is drawn to giving thanks ‘for’ anything good they have expe- rienced, our attention is drawn in a greater way to One to whom we are thankful. We recognize God as the Source of all blessings and that He is at work seeking to show us His love. With this in mind, we understand that thanksgiving is not just a matter of ‘gratitude’, but it is also an expression of D.S. PERSPECTIVE ‘faith’. Yes, we can and must be thankful when we expe- rience good things, but we can also give thanks when we face circumstances that are difficult to understand. God is still with us and while the ‘snapshot of the moment’ may be difficult to understand, He is still at work within the world. For in the end, we stand on the victory that has been established by Christ which brings us an assurance that even that which the world may intend for evil, God can somehow, miraculously use for good. So as you walk through November, celebrate the Presence of the Living God at work in your life and be ‘thankful’. Every day He will give wis- dom for the journey and strength for the task. anks be to God! ~ Pastor Scott Shaw November 2018

Catch up on what has happened at Trinity Pines and what the plans are for the future. You will enjoy the inspirational testimonies and informative reports.

RSVP online at www.tpines.org or call 208-888-0988

This is a timely conference for the Church, which finds itself in a cultural storm of fear and protectionism. How should the church move forward into a future that will be more and more multi-ethnic, which is the picture of the kingdom of God? How can Churches lead the way in loving those and showing hospitality to those who are not like us? How can Christians reach out to those in love and hospitality who are on the margins? This conference will explore the call to love as well as better imagine and plan how churches can welcome and love all people of the world. Along with our ple-nary speakers there will be many workshops for local churches to be inspired, challenged, and equipped to better love those next door and around the world.
