Too many of us start with the best of intentions but find that our new passion is difficult to maintain. e fact that ‘change is not always easy’ is illustrated by the statistics which say that 80% of New Year’s resolutions are buried on the ‘pile of neglect’ by the first of February. With this in mind, let me remind you of the words of Paul in Romans 12, which I believe are a key to maintaining ‘staying power’ for spiritu- al growth. In verse 1 we can see that he calls us to ‘offer our bodies to God as living sacrifices’. If we want to see our lives shaped into the image of Christ, it is vital that we surrender all that we are to Him on a daily basis. Spiritual growth is de- pendent upon our willingness to create an envi- ronment which daily cries out for ‘less of us and more of Jesus’. In verse 2, Paul then writes about a willingness to be ‘transformed by the renewing of the mind’. Rather than being consumed by the in- formation of the world and allowing it to ‘squeeze us into its mold’ we must give our attention to the Holy Spirit in order that He might teach and shape us. Paul states that this is how we will come to know the ‘will of God’ and see the ways that His ‘good, pleasing and perfect’ way will be reflected in our lives and living. 2018 provides us all with the opportunity to be- come more like Jesus. My prayer is that every day we might grow in His likeness. D. S. Perspective Dear Camp Friends At Share the Dream in late November, we rolled out a brand new program: stone pav- ers that will be placed in the walkway leading up to the front door of the new office and Conference Center entrance in the remodel. is is a unique opportunity for individuals, couples, churches, and organizations to show support in a visual way. You will be able to have your name inscribed on a paver for campers and visitors to see. Each paver will cost $250. According to the contractor, each paver inset into the concrete will reduce the overall cost of the project. LISTEN

LOVE

LEARN

LAUGH

CRY

BELIEVE

PRAY

I recently read a quote that expressed a great vision for all of us in this New Year: “Let’s LISTEN, LEARN, LOVE, LAUGH, and CRY together and DEEPEN our rela-

tionships and PRAY that God will open hearts. Let us INTERCEDE and BELIEVE for many to seek Jesus and to become more like Him.” - Dr. Daniel Ketchum

My prayer for all of us in 2018 is to be inspired by the Holy Spirit to find ways to be more involved in DISCIPLING/Mentoring our children, youth, young

adults, and new Christians around us. This quote reminds us of how we can reach out to them.

I am also praying God’s blessing and guidance for all our churches as we emphasize the other three objectives of NMI

Ƿ PRAYING for the lost Ƿ GIVING more generously Ƿ LEARNING more of God’s Mission, locally and around the world.

Join me in the NEW YEAR and remember that as we serve HIM together, God will faithfully fill our hearts with joy and peace as He promised. Carolita Fraley District NMI President
