Summer Intern - Volunteer Application 2015 Intern/Volunteer Application: Preachin’ Time Ministries is committed to investing in the lives of young men and women to better equip them to serve the LORD in the future. To this end, PTM welcomes a limited number of young people to travel with Evangelist Duane Moore and PTM during the summer. We refer to this program as our summer intern program, but the program is open to young people mature enough to handle the rigors of the road and those with a heart for serving God (not just college students). Each year the program is unique depending on the opportunities present to Bro. Moore and the Preachin’ Time Staff. Generally speaking the interns will be able to participate in mission service projects, mission trips, youth meetings and the camp experiences.     COST FOR VOLUNTEERS:

    The PTM INTERN PROGRAM is a VOLUNTEER PROGRAM without Compensation.The Intern agrees to bear his/her own cost. The cost for each summer segment isdifferent depending on the arrangements. The cost factors are indicated above. Specificswill be communicated personally.

    *you can use your Credit or Debit card through PAYPAL, there is a 3% fee (email fordetails).

    APPRECIATION WEEKEND:

    The Camp is pleased to invite anyone volunteering this year to participate in VolunteerAppreciation Activities.

    The following activities are scheduled:

    Following the closure of Junior Camp on Wednesday, July 1, the camp group will travelto Pigeon Forge, TN. A special TBD event will be held Wednesday night.

    Thursday morning, July 2, after breakfast at Cracker Barrel and possible localactivities, the group heads to DOLLYWOOD about 1 pm. The group will return toDOLLYWOOD on Friday, July 3. We will leave Dollywood late evening and headhome.

    Wahoo Baptist Church is providing transportation in their touring bus. The programincludes all activities, Dollywood tickets, two nights motel accommodations (sharedrooms), and all meals.

    The cost is indicated above. (Your cost is low because these activities are subsidizes forvolunteers by the POWEROF2YOUTHCAMP.)

    (Note: Lodging is based on 3 or 4 to a room, but we will work with couples. There maybe an additional cost.)

    THE PTM MISSIONARY KIDS PROGRAM WILL BEPARTICIPATING TOO YOULL ENJOY THEIR FELLOWSHIP.

    GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

    The intern program is designed for ministry exposure. You will observe, practice hands-on, minister and serve.

    ALL INTERNS MUST ATTEND ALL SERVICES! (unless duties require yourabsence) for the segments you sign-up for.

    All interns are required to stay at camp during the days they volunteer until clean-up iscomplete on the last camp day and they are dismissed by the director. The same ruleapplies to other segments.

    The work of the intern will be intense, long and at times hard. He/She will be ask to pullextended hours as they become engaged in a host of activities. The range of tasksassigned can be broad. Some tasks may place the intern in a leadership roll, on theplatform, or directly involved with those ministered to. At other times, the intern will beinvolved in mundane tasks behind the scenes. These tasks could include office work,housekeeping, kitchen, set up/tear down and more. The applicant submits to these tasks.The individual assignments will be determined by the director based on need, availabilityand experience.

    Being an INTERN will be a very rewarding experience. You will be strengthenspiritually, exposed to many ministries and have the chance to touch potentially hundredsof lives for Christ.

    The INTERN agrees to abide by the Standards of Preachin' Time Ministries (both in theirwork time and personal time during their active time of volunteering). The intern mustfurther agree to submit to the doctorial position of the same.

    You should commit to pray in advance and during your tenure as intern. Pray that Godwill work in the lives of those ministered to, guide and direct the leadership and protectall those involved in the ministry.

    The ministry of Preachin Time Ministries is a very serious matter and very important tothe leadership. The intern ministry is under the direction of Preachin TimeMinistries (a Ministerial Division of White Oak Springs Baptist Church in Dallas, GA) and is directed by Evangelist DuaneMoore. The activities are in a wide variety of facilities including churches, camps, motels, amusement parks, industrialprinting shops, etc. This release and authorization is intended to cover my involvement in activities prior to and followingafter the days of this inter program. My authorization and release extends to anyone that I ride with at the ministrysdiscretion. I certify that I am able and willing to participate in these activities, including work assignments, sports, horseback riding, swimming (note: Not all activities may be available) and other camp related, church related, trip related andweekend activities (unless indicated in the medical information section of this application). I have identified any medicalcondition that may be relevant to a physician in the event of an emergency, listing them above in the medical section of thisapplication. I certify that my child is able to participate in these activities, including work assignments, sports, horse backriding, swimming (note: Not all activities may be available) and other camp related, church related, trip related and weekendactivities organized for volunteers (unless indicated in the medical information section of this application). If my child has amedical condition which may be relevant to a physician in the event of an emergency, I have listed them above in the medicalsection of this application.     STANDARD CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PREACHIN TIME MINISTRIES ACTIVITIESPreachin Time Ministries reserves the right to set and maintain the highest Biblical Standards in keeping with Consistent Christian Conduct.Please review this summary of our standards. Please note that this list is intended to be general, and the director has final authority to applyand interpret these standards. These standards are to be enforced during Trip Travel as well as at the specified designation. (For MissionTrips, participants must be very careful not to hinder the work of the missionary by conducting himself in a manner contrary to the teaching orpreaching of the missionary or certain local customs.) YOU CAN UNDO IN A MOMENT WHAT MAY HAVE TAKEN A MISSIONARY YEARS TOESTABLISH.

    Doctrine: PREACHIN TIME MINISTRIES is proudly an INDEPENDENT BAPTIST MINISTRY and will be governed accordingly in action of faithand doctrine. We only use the KING JAMES BIBLE (for English Presentation) in all matters. Our music and manner of worship may beconsidered old fashion but we believe they are in keeping with the word and spirit of the Scriptures. All materials distributed or utilized atPTM activities must be approved in advance by the director and missionary(ies) (when appropriate).

    Dress Code: PLEASE REVIEW CAREFULLY!(In general, our dress code is designed to (1)promote modesty (2) not attract sexual or lewd attention to ones body (3) not to promote worldlyappearance or fads and (4) to honor Christ!) Any higher standard observed by a missionary will be observed by that specific group. Specificclothing requirements will be communicated to participants.

    Ladies:PTM does not allow any of our female participants to wear PANTS, SHORTS, GAUCHOS, MINI SKIRTS/DRESSES, SLEEVELESS TOPS or

    TOPS EXPOSING THE MIDRIFF OR BAREBACK, SUNDRESSES OR OTHER DRESSES/TOPS WITH STRAPS or LOWCUT TOPS/DRESSES.

    Modest Dresses/Skirts/Jumpers that go below the Knee should be worn for services. SKIRT-APPEARING Culottes are permitted for all dayactivities. Young Ladies that do not desire to wear culottes will feel comfortable with FULL skirts that reach mid-calf for all activities.Sneakers should be worn for day activities. Please pack at least a couple of dark blue/black T-shirts to wear for designated relaycompetitions (like water balloon toss) to ensure Christian modesty. Note: Ladies please wear blouses or tops that do NOT have such a shorttail that you expose yourself when kneeling or bending.as a general rule, if you are pulling on your top constantly, it is too short.

    Gentlemen:PTM does not allow any of our male participants to wear SHORTS or SWEAT PANTS in public at any time (Wind Pants are acceptable.

    Shirts must be worn at all times. NO TANKTOPS, SLEEVLESS SHIRTS, MUSCLE SHIRTS or CUTOFFS are permitted.Young Men should wear nice jeans or slacks and a comfortable shirt with a collar for the services. (While not prohibited, T-shirts are

    not preferred for the services. Button up Shirts and Ties are not required but are always appropriate. Jeans should be worn for all dayactivities with comfortable T-shirts and sneakers.

    *Please maintain decency in the dorm public areas as well.

    ALLT-shirts and hats/caps worn at camp should not have questionable words, advertising (i.e. Country or Rock entertainers, alcohol,

    tobacco products, etc), or inappropriate pictures. Ideal T-shirts would include those promoting your home church or school. Boys will not bepermitted to wear caps in the dining hall or tabernacle and the cap should be worn naturally and not in a fashion favoring the world.

    Jewelry is best left at Home!

    SWIMMING ATTIRE If the opportunity presents itself for the group to enjoy a time of swimming or water activities you will be notified ofthe expected dress. Here are some general guidelines if we separate the group male/female such as pool swimming and privacy isguaranteed swim suits are permitted (one piece for females, no bikinis for either gender). If the group is not separated and not exclusivelyprivate such as the ocean, tubing or water games FULL CLOTHING will be required. Swim suits may be worn under the clothing -- Dark Shirtswill be required for male and female participants. Females should wear Dark Culottes or pin a dark, full skirt males should wear darkpants or jeans. As a reminder, when the camp uses a public pool, we cannot guarantee the gender of life guards OR prevent pool personnel ofthe opposite gender from entering the pool area. If this is a concern, please wear full clothing in the pool.

    Discipline: PTM camps & activities are designed to be a fun experience for all participants. Activities are also designed to allow you anopportunity to draw closer to the Lord & hear HIS voice not affected by normal hindrances. Please observe the following general rules ofconduct:

    NO CIGARETTES, SNUFF or OTHER TOBACCO PRODUCTS are permitted(youth and adults). No Drugs, Firearms, Fireworks, Radios,Alcoholic beverages, Rock Music, Country Music, CD Players, Tape Players, Record Players, TVs, Video Games(and machines), Computers,Palm Devices, knives, guns, or other weapons are permitted. (Certain electronic devices like computers or palm devices are acceptable ifneeded on mission trips or adults attending camps.) No magazines or Books please. (Exception: a personal devotional book such as BaptistBread or similar that the participant generally uses day by day would be acceptable.) Cell phones are permitted, but MUST be surrendered toyour Counselor who will control phone usage. (Different policy will apply for mission trips.) Your days will be very full. Foreign trips mayhave additional restrictions.

    Rules will be explained during orientation. Mission Trip specific rules will be communicated. Curfews and other key times will beannounced throughout the event. Participants are expected to follow the directives of the Director, Counselors and Chaperones at all times.NO ONE is permitted to leave the property or assigned areas. Trips utilize a buddy system. Participants are ask to have a willing attitude ofcompliance and cooperation during the week. Good Sportsmanship is always a Christian grace to be exhibited by all. You should come readyto participate both in the letter of the activities and the spirit of the activity as well. THIS WILL TRULY BE WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT!

    THE CAMP HAS ONE PHONE AND THIS PHONE WILL BE OFF LIMITS TO CAMPERS. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, A CAMP COUNSELORWILL CONTACT THE PARENTS. THIS RULE MUST BE ENFORCED. THANK YOU. *** Camp Volunteer Cell Phone usage will be handled on anindividual basis at the discretion of the director. In general, volunteers will be allowed time to make calls home and personal calls, but thephones may be off limits during certain times. Each volunteer agrees to abide by these rules.

    CAMP ACCOMODATIONS: Room and Bed assignments are made at the discretion of the camp staff. CAMPERS are NOT PERMITTED to changerooms without the permission of CAMP STAFF. Attending Chaperones are NOT allowed to make rooming changes for their groups without thepermission of CAMP STAFF. The camp conducts full bed counts nightly for the safety of our campers and staff and your FULL PARTICIPATION isrequired. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIVES OF CAMP STAFF REGARDING ROOMING ASSIGNMENTS IS GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATEDISMISSAL FROM CAMP. In addition lights out times are assigned daily. At this time campers are to be in their respective rooms, quite,with lights extinguished. If a camper is found outside of his/her room after lights out they can be dismissed from camp.

    In respect to the teaching of the scriptures, missionaries and the variety of churches that participate in Preachin Time MinistriesCamps, Retreats, Trips and Events; only male preachers that are not divorced and remarried and those whose wives are not divorced andremarried will be permitted to preach. Of course these individuals may participate in the services and outreach efforts in a variety of otherways including teaching, singing, soul-winning and literature distribution.

    PATICIPANTS WILL ATTEND ALL SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES. ADULTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND ALL SERVICES.

    Those refusing to participate or follow the rules established by PTM, including the dress code, may be dismissed.Parents/Guardians will be contacted to pick up the dismissed participant.
