POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Team Leader: Mechanical, the incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance, installation, optimization, improving and upgrading of all NTP mechanical equipment.
1. Ensure Plant/Equipment Availability Ensure plant availability within set parameters (>97%); Availability of spares required and repair equipment immediately; Work according to work procedures and hand in documentation as soon as possible;
Corrective & Preventative Maintenance Assess the work; evaluate what needs to be done in terms of inventory
fabrication, obtaining resources; Job cards and work requests must be completed and handed in as soon as
possible; Liaise with Production personnel to schedule inspections in the plant; Evaluate job requests; plan what is needed and complete job effectively; Inspect the equipment to be maintained in terms of the scheduled inspections
or performance test requirements; Replace /repair equipment to prevent breakdowns; Time spend on jobs is essential, therefore good planning and problem solving
is needed; Ensure that all tasks on the inspection list have been completed; Obtain sign off the completed work from the requestor and submit to the Team
Leader for processing; Note and report on possible areas of concern and follow the corrective
process;
Manufacturing of spares and stock control o Check the consumable stock levels; o Identify spares needing to be manufactured;o Liaise with the drawing office in order to collect the drawings for
manufacturing and submit to Manager for processing;o Manufacture small components for equipment repairs personally, as required
Ensure that sufficient spares are available on the shelf;o Check all stock/components on the shelf to ensure that stock levels are
maintained (as lead time from overseas can be extensive);

Document stock taken off the shelf and ensure that the Team Leader is informed of the minimum stock level, in order to allow for timeous ordering.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

ensure qualitative outcomes. The ability to use knowledge of administrative techniques, tools, policies and/or
procedures to enable effective administration. The ability to maintain high ethical standards both personally and professionally; shows
honesty and fairness when dealing with others; is reliable and trustworthy/ respects ethical and moral obligations.

o Able to be trusted to do what is expected or has been promised;o Medically fit to work as a Radiation Worker;o Work shifts as required by the business;o Must be available to work on standby; ando Must have own transport.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: N6 in Mechanical Engineering. Red Seal Fitter & Turner Trade Test. Training on HVAC systems will be added advantage; and Minimum three (3) years relevant experience.
