Internal Quality Assurance Cell Initiatives

• IQAC formed on – September 5, 2012
It may be noted that to assure and enhance internal quality in teaching-learning,
administration and research activities of the various schools, IQAC and IQEC have been
constituted on 5th September 2012 at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University.
Following is the executive summary of the initiatives undertaken by the School and the
challenges faced:
(a) Curriculum Development and the Course Basket –
1. Curriculum Review –Various Boards of Studies meeting were held and after
thoughtful deliberations, paper titles in courses of Environmental Studies were
changed with added rigor.
• Board of Studies meeting for UG (International Relations) and PG (Political
Science-International Relations) programme was held on Janury 31, 2017.
• Board of studies meeting for BBA/B.Com was held on 10th January 2017. Major/
Minor were introduced in BCOM programme from Semester 5 onwards.
More specialization subjects were added in BBA programme.

library. Also for the first time as an advanced preparation, Braille material is also available
for select sources for visually impaired students if any. SLS has also purchased 10 more E

(r) University Arms –
SLS has formed an organogram for faculty contribution to the university’s corporate life.
Currently Dr. D.Sriram was the Coordinator for NAAC visit. Dr. Neeta Sinha is the Chief
Hostel warden of the university. Ms. Khushali Purohit is efficiently handling the NCC Girls
Wing of the university and the team of Ms. Neeta Khurana and Ms. Khushali Purohit are
facilitating for the Rural Internship Program for engineering students of the university. Dr.
Sanjay Pradhan is the faculty advisor for PDPU Quiz Club.
(s) NCC Activities :
Exposure to NCC is a compulsory subject for first year SLS students(BA/BBA, B.com &
B.Sc) under Audit Course.
Total 535 students i.e: BA/BBA - 309 students, B.Com - 170 students and B.Sc - 56 students
in first year of batch 2017.
(t) Challenges Ahead –
• Identification of challenges is within the domain of quality enhancement, as such
identification leads to redefining quality parameters and related goals.
• SLS has introduced B.Sc. program for the batch commencing from July 2016. The
challenges would be to innovate with the delivery of the program.
• Strengthen the post graduate department and M.A. Program. A plan is proposed to
introduce M.A. in Economics, Psychology and Mass Communication from the year
2017.
