AP•One final examination will determine if the student receives credit•There is no limit to how many or how few courses a student can take•AP students may NOT take IB courses or IB Exams•AP is scored on a 1-5 scale•Beginning to be recognized internationally

MYTH BUSTERS
Myth #1:“IB kids have
no (social) life”
Wrong…
Myth #2:“IB is only for the
super smart & brainiacs.”
Not even close…
IB kids are just like other students.
The IB Diploma Programmes at Stony Point and Westwood include a diverse
group of students.
Myth #3: “IB ruins your GPA and lowers your class rank”
IB students who are motivated, disciplined, and rise to the
challenge, can get in the top 10% or top 10 in their class.
IB courses are weighted, just like AP courses.
Myth #4:“IB is AP on steroids”
IB and AP are very different.
IB is more about the “why,” while AP is more about the “what.”
Myth #5:“IB isn’t recognized by ALL colleges, so it isn’t
worth it.”
Each college and university is different, and college credit will vary based on your scores and
their policies.
Research the colleges and universities you are planning on
attending.
