Workshop Background

There are over 60 million teachers in the world (educators andadministrators in basic and post-basic education, tertiaryeducation, and both non-formal and informal learning by bothyoung people and adults)– and each one is a key agent forbringing about the changes in lifestyles and systems that weneed for delivering the educational response to sustainabledevelopment. The key role of educators as agents of change iswhat we need to focus on to start building a community of like-minded educators from around the world with interests inprogressing education in our changing environmental, social, and economic global landscape. Empowering teachers fromacross the world to connect may light the fire that sendseducation reform into a whole new era.
