“Research: In Today’s Context and the Internet as Helping Hand”

We live in the Age of WhatsApp and Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest, WordPress and BlogSpot or Blogger, Google “Research” and “Scholar”, “Shodhganga” and Gutenberg, “IPL2” (the Internet Public Library), “Google Translate” and “Goggles” and its counterparts on Microsoft Edge and Bing. To say that there is “an explosion of information with the usage of the Internet” is redundancy; to blurb on a jacket-flap, to foreword a book, to say the same in our Ph.D. Coursework Classes may

not impress the beneficiaries. But it definitely impresses anyone when you practically demonstrate the gamut and horizons of the all aforementioned buzzwords. Not only that, it is now possible for the learner to get a degree or diploma by remaining and working at home with the powerful MOOC-empowered (Massive Open Online Course) portals of the topmost universities of the world. The Android has created miracles; and miracles will continue when we enter the world of the 4G and 5G of the data interaction over the Internet.

Nonetheless, our endeavor in research has to bind together all the resources, starting with the library research and consummating in the Internet. As the Internet is a baffling ocean of information, researchers and students hardly know how to select, what to select, which are the most relevant things for them for their purpose of research or study. Sifting through the available data and interpreting information-bits has become a challenge for anyone, a teacher and a student. There are hundreds and thousands of books on variety of research-study topics to help students and teachers. And yet there is the same confusion. It is due to the copiousness of the content, the inability to sense and select the relevant and the useful, and prioritize the same in the writing. The Internet is like a milky-way or the galaxy of stars where we have to spot our essential star out of the myriads. None’s attempt to outline these resources if complete and foolproof. Yet there are the progressive milestones in delineating the genealogy of research within a

particular area, on a particular subject. This article is such an attempt. There are a few important things that any researcher should consider before starting the actual work. We shall call these “Important Fives”:

Important One: These include general strategies and methods of research, everything from ways to choose, search, and test your topic, to planning your research and finding your sources, to evaluating the accuracy, credibility, and reliability of sources.

Important Two: These include finding sources of information from various outlets of research. The researcher should find archives and archival collections; associations, societies, and organizations; biographical information; electronic databases with full-text articles; and electronic journals, e-zines, and newsletters. He must join e-mail discussion groups and newsgroups, bloggers and blog sites; general references (almanacs, bibliographies, periodical and newspaper indexes, yearbooks, and more); government agencies and publications, all kinds of libraries (academic, government, public, school, research, special, etc. the British Library, the American Library, etc.); newspapers, magazines, journals, and radio and television stations; search engines (including Google “Research” and “Scholar” and the Microsoft counterparts); research sites on the Internet on his/her subject.

Important Three: Now, the researcher should be very selective in his/her utilization of the most relevant, recommended information sources by libraries and online resources. She must carefully go through, and sift through the detailed listings of selected books and references, print and web article indexes, periodicals, etc. and glance through the book-starting “Contents” and book-ending “Indices “or, “Indexes” showing subject headings, keyword search strategies, user guides, general source and subject guides.

Important Four: Here the researcher should select and cite the sources with proper style and techniques for avoiding plagiarism, quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing the research, creating text citations and a bibliography, works cited, or list of references. She must list web sites (in the appropriate web-visiting and citing format) so that it helps anyone to create an explanatory bibliography.

Important Five: The researcher now formulate the writing in the necessary research-writing format, selecting one of the two: the APA format (American Psychological Association), or the MLA format (Modern Language Association). She can also refer to useful books such as the Chicago Manual of Style, and online examples on listing sources in chapter-ending “References”, book-ending “Bibliography” etc.

Finally, a researcher should consult library and other related professionals, faculty members and instructors, fellow researchers and authors, and a wide variety of sources before formulating the research to writing. She must endeavor her best to verify sources, to confirm the accuracy and reliability of information, and to research as accurately as possible keeping in mind the document value of the work. It must prove to be a considerable guideline for any would-be researcher.

With wisdom one becomes capable.

he world is full of aspiring political leaders but sadly, very few live up to the leadership ideals. In fact, many political leaders seem to severely lack some of the most important leadership qualities, such as integrity and accountability. It is no coincidence that for many people, the word “politician” has such negative connotations! However, history – and present day – shows us that there are still a few who come close to the leadership ideals and who are good examples of an effective

political leader.

Born in 11th of November 1955, Vallabhbhai is the man with the focus on the long-term

good of his people, above and ahead of any personal short-term gains. Basically a Farmar is now in the ministry of Gujarat state working as the Minister of Agriculture and Urben Housing. Mr. Vaghasiya is really an ideal politician as he is very simple yet interesting man. A simple follower of Sangh(R.S.S.).

His political career started in 1984-85 when he was advised to join Kisan Sangh. At that time Kisan Sangh was working for improvemet and development in farming and specially to look after the condition of farmers. He had represented in Kisan Sangh as President for nine years. He had participated in many local ‘aandolans’ and faced police firing during the મીટર ના દુ દોલન. In the year of 94-95 he took the responsibility of election as an active member of Sangh and came up with victory in critical situation; was appointed as vice president of Savar Kundla Taluka. He had continued his service for taluka and jilla Sangh as secretary. In the year of 2000 won district election with a huge lead from Vijapdi and became vice president at Amreli district. In 2005

his wife shree Vijyaben was alo elected at district and became chairman of building construction committee. That was the one and only term were his family member participated in politics. Afterwords none of his family member associate with the politics. He became M. L. A. in the year of 2012. He was knowen for his straight thinking. People opines that Vallabhbhai is very down to earth even after he became M. L. A. and even after becoming an minister too. He is also giving his service as president of Khedut Seva Sahakari Mandali as president since 1991. He had never demended ticket for MLA or demanded ministery but received both the thing in his career. He commits that it’s possible only in B.J.P.

Mr. Vaghasiya has combination of charisma and integrity, as well as the ability to assess a situation and make a decision based on what would be best for the greatest number of people. In political framework his leadership had ‘statesmanship’ – as opposed to just being a ‘politician’ – he’s having the integrity and willingness to stand up for what is right, even if it means resigning a position in government.

V. V. Vaghasiya serves an example of integrity and loyalty to the people he represent, even both to the people and to other political leaders. He had good communication and inter-personal skill. He can work with a range of other people, regardless of political party or openion, to achive the greatest good for the general population. He can resist the various tempatation and lures of the political arena. He is the man with strong character and charisma. Vallabhbhai became more acceptable by the people by Kundla and Liliya just because he is willing to listen to the needs of the comman people and to represent them faithfully. He is the man with courage to stand up and say what needs to be said – rather thanjust tell the general public what it wants to here.

As a leader Mr. Vaghasiya has a leadership style that focuses on coalition and building. He has full trust on Sangh and on B. J. P.

As a good political leader he will always try to use persuasion first. He had set an example that leader needs to be trusted and be known to live their life with honesty and integrity. A good leader “walks the talk” and in doing so earns the right to have responsibility for others. True authority is born from respect for the good character and trustworthiness of the person who leads. A good leader is enthusiastic about their work or cause and also about theirrole as leader. People will respond more openly to a person of passion and dedication. Leaders need to be able to be a source of inspiration, and be amotivator towards the required action or cause. Although the responsibilities and roles of a leader may be different, the leader needs to be seen to be part of the team working towards the goal. This kind of leader will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get dirty. He showed that good leaders are tolerant of ambiguity and remain calm, composed and steadfast to the main purpose. Storms, emotions, and crises come and go and a good leader takes these as part of the journey and keeps a cool head. A good leader as well as keeping the main goal in focus is able to think analytically. Not only does a good leader view a situation as a whole, but is able to break it down into sub parts for closer inspection. Not only is the goal in view but a good leader can break it down into manageable steps and make progress towards it.
