Interaction with MP. Dr. UDIT RAJ & HOD of DACEC Prof. JP Dubey and the

Jaunti village is in the western part of delhi which is adopted by MP UDIT RAJ under a
govt. scheme {aadarsh gram yojna}. The field visit included a rally ,talk and interaction
with illiterates and literate villagers senior citizens and youths. I observed that the village
was economically better than other villages of India due to adjoining with the capital of
india (Delhi),But there is no economic equality in India. The Condition of women, old and
children groups need a good education according to CCE pattern. Dr. Udit Raj addressed
the participants & students from University of Wurzburg who were enjoying the village
culture and MP’s speech.
He described as a model village. He appreciated the works and extension activities of
the students of the University of Delhi and Wurzburg.
The students also talked to Mrs. Rekha Vohra (the project Director of Jaunti village) who
explained the culture, monuments, history & education of villagers. She facilitated the
programs and introduced the government funds for infrastructure, health, social and
economical development .During this period , I interacted with German friends &
students (Stefanie, Lydia, Kathrine, Lidea, Miriam, and a male student). I telked about
NGOs, UNICEF, UNESCO, and German villages and Education. I learnt word
“weltbildungstag ”(International literacy day). European Union is working with those
organizations to promote the adult education.
Observation:
I observed that children and locals were excited during the celebration because DU
students wore an unique dress and due to the presence of MP and German students.
Ladies sitted with hidden faces with their clothes due to presence of old men, it shows
the real culture of typical indian villages. Boys and girls were sitting separately which
represented gender inequality, villager and village was smart but they need more
awareness towards gender literacy & equality and human rights literacy. It will improve
the literacy rate of India.
15th September(10:00 AM to 01:00PM) :-
Professionalization of Adult Education India Story- ( by-
Prof Sugan Bhatia)
He explained the views of history, context, policies challenges and issues of the
professionalization of Adult Education in India. He gave an unique idea and sense of adult
education growth. National and European Union policies argue strongly for an
increasement in the quality of adult and continuing Education through
professionalization. He compared between Amercian and German Adult Education.
Germany is focused on "Professionalization of adult education and continuing Education"
while America shows the interest in "professionalisation of Adult Education."
The importance of professionalization of adult education has been increasingly recognized
in different parts of the globe. It was highlighted by UNESCO. Several European
countries made considerable progress in this area as evident from the increasing member
of academic programmes, researches, publications, conferences. Due to the lack of
professionalization, in India government launched National literary Mission.
In the developing of adult education, we require a good trainer with a sufficient train. It
means a good set up of professionals, training programes certifications, affiliations and
way of practice.
Dr. Rajesh gave a statement, that adult education should be co-curricular and Education
is co-centric thing. We should adopt the pedagogy and andragogy. Establishment of
universities, departments of adult education and development of accredited courses at
certificate, diploma and degree levels in adult education can play a new role in
professionalization.
16 September (10:00 AM to 01:00PM)
Culture and learning India Perspective (By: Prof. P.C.
Joshi )
During the lecture some questions arised by German delegates from the University of
Wurzburg in the context of the culture, geographical area, Religion, women
empowerment and literary level of women in India. The lecture introduced and explained
different images of culture of India like making rangoli, planting tulsi in house etc. Prof.
Joshi acknowledged the students with the diverse history about the diversities, culture
and tradition and its renowned persons or legend.
Some evidences of Indian Educated civilization introduced the "Zero" ,Chess, Surgical
operations, History of Sushrut and Chankya's Economics Fundamentals. Family is the first
school of learning and mother is the first teacher. Moral values, social behavior, and
human values are the field of learning in the family institutions.
The first formal reorganization of lifelong learning came in 1966 when the Indian
Education Commission (1964-66) made some observations:
Life long learning part of Indian Culture.
Education does end with schooling, it has not a limitation and period but it is a
life by process.
Adult needs to understand the social, economical, technological changes.
Adult education gives opportunity for education to adult citizens according to
their willingness.
They have participation in social and political life of India.
Language and Learning India Perspective
(By- Prof. R.C. Sharma)
Prof. R.C. Sharma described amazingly, The way of learning all the languages and its
importance for all human beings and introduced the differences and similarity of those
languages. His lecture was focused on the nature, replacement, evolution, emergence of
languages and some learning skills. Only humans are able to learn human language (not
even higher privates e.g. Chimpanzee and Guerilla). Language is an instrument to gain
the knowledge and to improve our social, physical, mental and economical and status. It
is a phenomenon of teaching and learning of a person or learner is bilingual or
multilingual then he will be approached by the world.
17th September (10.00 AM to 1.00 PM)
Panel discussion with Prof. Rajesh, Prof. Dikshit and Prof.
Sanjay Bhatt (Social Worker)
17th september was the last day of program, Prof. Rajesh addressed the mass by focusing
as the concept of adult education, adult learners, history and adult educat ion, life long
learning. Discussion was conducted on a considerable point like population and problems
in education system.
Prof. Dixit interacted with German visitors. They described their experiences in India and
Dixit defined the German and Indian Education. He described also the culture, Education
and Extension and history of Germany.
At the end of day, Prof. Sanjay Bhatt delivered the lecture on " the issues and challenges"
by the field workers and organisation (Ngo’s). He shared some social work experience.
There is no economic equality in India and the wages were fixed according the castes and
the different types of works are distributed according the specific caste of society. He
showed the ageing population of Germany and Indian population as a youth population.
He says, Don't say 'I' and Go with 'WE' it means we should to learn, earn and live by
growing and developing the society. Lecture was motivational and Inspirational. People
Dignity is main concept of social work. He also commented on German language value is
"Valantas- meaning is to care, to share, trust and to win. We should go in community
with some basic moral values and focusing the aim. He also told "Marriage is an
institution" A child or a learner can develop his knowledge, values, basic skills and
language by his parents. Social work is not an inspirational area (e.g. Mother Teresa was
a great social worker; So we need to be like her). Social work is a feeling and willingness.
Conclusion
As a student of M.A. lifelong learning. We got the actual view of literacy, development
and its needs. By the field visits and lecture I understood the history, scope and context
of Adult Education in India. I can hardly say that there is a relation among education,
learning and work. We should prepare a sustainable society such as in health, Agriculture
and Education. During the literacy week, I got a message from news and media, our
president, Shri Pranab Mukherjee told without literacy, " empowerment is not possible". I
would like to suggest the university system and government that for the increasing of
literacy rate, we have to increase the liabilities and facilities like accommodation, fooding,
health, libraries, field interactions in the courses, foreign exchange programmes,
internship and scholarships. UNESCO & IAEA should give the affiliation to NGO's and
institution by a certain procedure and criterias. In India, Ministries and Govt. should
take an initiative to promote the social work in our busy lives, because by 1 people we
can make a network of million and billion people. A person can save the lives of others.
We can spread peace, awareness, happiness and love by increasing the literacy and feeling
of social work. In my point of view, if you tell yourself-(I am the best, then world will say
yes, you are best), by this opinion we will produce more besties in the world by the
continuing, extension and life long learning process. I am also thankful to the Department
of Adult Continuing Education and Extension, Professors, MP, Media and students who
played a wonderful role to conduct this occasion. I wish and hope ,one day we will make
together our country as “EDUINDIA” in future with the support of each other.
