IMAF (International Moscow Automotive Forum) was held for the ninth time from the 28th to 29th of August in the framework of the MIMS Automechanika Moscow 2018 exhibition.

The IMAF 2018 was organized by the ITEMF Expo in cooperation with the Association of European Businesses in Russia.

The main theme of the IX Moscow International Automotive Forum was «A new stage of the automotive industry in Russia».

The forum brought together more than 280 automotive industry specialists. A total of 26 reports were given, and at the conclusion of the Forum purchasers and suppliers direct B2B sessions took place again this year.

BUSINESS BREAKFAST

For the first meeting of plenary session speakers, a VIP breakfast was traditionally organized, participants of which were not only speakers, but also the Forum partners.

Anatoly Karpov, a multiple world chess champion, international grandmaster, and the vice president of the Russian Chess International Federation was invited as a special guest. Guests exchanged experience and drew an analogy between doing business and playing chess.

The breakfast ended with a ceremonial signing of books “Money we are choosing” edited by Anatoly Karpov for all breakfast participants.

The 1st day sessions of IMAF 2018:

On the first day of the Forum experts from the Russian Federation Government, the Russian Export Center, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Skolkovo Foundation, and representatives of EY, DLA Piper, PwC Russia, Dassault Systemes, PSS, KPMG in Russia and the CIS, FSUE NAMI, Yandex, HERE, E-Passport JSC and top officials of automakers presented reports on current topics.

FORUM DAY 2

The 2nd day sessions of IMAF 2018:

The second day of the Forum was devoted to the topic “Production localization”, which had been considered from two different sides : from purchasers and suppliers points of view.

The second day was moderated by Natalia Nikitina, Director of tax and legal consulting KPMG in Russia and the CIS, and Andrei Kossov, Commercial Director Johnson Matthey, Chairman of the AEB Automotive Components Committee.

Representatives of the following companies took part in the discussions: KPMG in Russia and the CIS, Avtovaz Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization, Avtotor Holding, Isuzu Rus, Gestamp Severstal Vsevolozhsk, Faurecia Russia, RUSAL, JSC SEZ IPT Togliatti, JSC Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation.

Traditionally, at the end of the IMAF Forum, a session of direct negotiations between automakers and wholesale buyers with suppliers took place. This year, there were more than 70 purchasers meetings with suppliers within the event.
