This qualification provides the core skills for the professions in website development and design. Graduates will be capable of applying the fundamentals of current and emerging concepts and practice in building a complete web application.

They will also be able to demonstrate an awareness of appropriate professional practice, and work both as part of a team and independently under broad supervision. It will equip people for further IT related study, and may also prepare people for employment in an entry level IT role.

OVERVIEW

This two-year programme of study focuses on the theory and practice of a range of computing systems and networks, and how these systems are used to support business practices. It aims to produce graduates with a sound technical understanding of information technology and the application of IT to business information systems. The course has an emphasis on developing skills in problem solving, interpersonal communication and addressing IT problems in a range of contexts.

The programme’s core is the fundamentals of information systems, hardware and software infrastructure, user applications and communication. In the second year students are able to specialise in networking or user support.

The aim of this Diploma is for students to be immersed in a holistic overview of organisations, engaging in critical thinking, problem solving and analytical analyses of business related problems. This Certificate provides students with a six-month programme of study in academic skills. These focus on introducing students to the requirements of academic study at a tertiary level. It aims to produce graduates who are capable of undertaking academic studies in the field of their choice.
