INTERNATIONAL FEST Fall 2016
Students kicked off 2016’s International
Fest with flags flying high in the school’s
first annual Flag Parade. Fifty-two flags
were flown to represent countries and
cultures from all over the world that have
become a part of UT Tyler’s
International community.
SPRING 2017 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION The Spring 2017 International
Student Orientation was held in the UC
Ballroom on Thursday, 12
January, 2017.
34 new students learned about the
helpful services provided by UT Tyler
support offices across campus, and
played interactive games that
encouraged communication.
Attendees also enjoyed a yummy lunch
from Marco’s Pizza located right here
in Tyler!

INTENSIVE ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTITUTE
The English Language Institute at UT Tyler is an
intensive ESL school with experienced teachers holding
degrees related to education and TOEFL. Small classes
allow our dedicated faculty to meet individual needs of
students and provide high-quality instruction. Students
can also take advantage of on-campus housing and
learn about campus resources and programs.
All students are welcome to come join in on the
Conversation Corner Thursday afternoons from
3:30-5:00 PM.

IELI STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS UT Tyler IELI students Olga Zapolska (Ukraine)
and Omar Alruwaili (Saudi Arabia) successfully
completed level 6 of the intensive English
program. Both students are now currently
enrolled at UT Tyler. Olga is in the MBA pro-
gram, and Omar is in the pre-nursing program.
Congratulations to them both, and we wish

GATE PRESENTATION: VIETNAM Intensive English
Language Institute
student, Phat Le,
recently gave a forty-
minute presentation on
Vietnam to 15 GATE
students and their instructor. He covered
topics such as shopping, places to visit, food,
currency, transportation, and safety tips.
Phat also taught the
students several useful
phrases in Vietnamese.
The group will be
travelling to Vietnam this
summer for six weeks.

facilitates collaborations with 17 partner universities.

World Health Organization.
