In collaboration with The Dutch Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

We are honored to invite you to the international symposium

‘Optimisation in CMF Trauma Care’ This symposium is organised on the occasion of the retirement of professor

Ruud Bos. During his career the hospital services around the traumatized

patient have evolved from local habits to consequent use of the ATLS

principles. At the same time CMF trauma care was revolutionised by

computer tomography and the development of miniplate and microplate

systems for internal fixation. In many CMF centers the traditional schools

of rigid fixation and the Champy principles have approached each other,

leading to more consensus on the optimal fracture fixation methods. The

ideas of fracture fixation, the accurate preoperative imaging and the esthetic

awareness of the patient have led to reconsideration of the optimal surgical

approaches in CMF trauma.

The current opinion on the optimal diagnostic and therapeutic approach of

the CMF trauma patient will be presented by a distinguished international

faculty. Remaining controversies and new developments will be presented in

the poster sessions and free lectures.

The participants are invited to upload their abstracts from September 1, 2015.

During the symposium you will get the chance to meet many colleagues

from abroad. The compact university city of Groningen provides an excellent

environment to join each other for the social part of the meeting.

After the conference the SORG-Academy will organise a hands-on cadaver

course on “surgical approaches for CMF trauma” on Saturday, May 21, 2016.
