Naaralipoornimaa, RakshaBandhan and Upaakarma

27/08/2018 Celebrations to celebrate with love and devotion with the meaning in it and by knowing science behind it. For our intellectual development it is very helpful to celebrate it with the meaning. On the 27th August 2018, in NV ChinmayaVidyalaya, Kanarkhed celebratedNaaralipoornimaa, RakshaBandhan and Upaakarma. To create a cultural awareness amongst the staff and students the students were encouraged to prepare rachis. On this day of Raksha Bandhan, under the guidance of Pujya Swamini Ujjwalanandaji, the Director In-Charge and Shri PRS Chakravarthi, the Principal and shri. Manoj Tikar, soon after the lunch break, all the classes from std. 1st to std. 10thstudents gathered in the vrundavan hall. Then they have got a way giving words from pujyaAmmaji. And chant gayatri mantra 108 times with Vinay dada and Lokesh dada. As we thought we all are the children of one father so the other living animals are also the part of our family by this thought std.5th celebrated the programme by tying the rachis on trees. Finally we concluded with a very beautiful and a heart-touching moment to all the students and teachers of the Vidyalaya where everyone ties the rakhi thread with a very good gusto and complete devotion and received the blessings of Bhagavaan. In the ancient Indian culture, this festival that is famous as Upaakarmawas celebrated especially by the Brahmins on the full moon day of the Lunar month Shraavana of the Hindu almanac. Firstly oblations are offered to the Rishis. Then, after taking the sankalpa, the Vedic mantra – Kaamo-kaarsheen-namonamahais chanted and a new Yajnopaveeta, The sacred thread is worn. Another speciality of this day is that the japaie., continuous chanting (loudly / mentally) of the Gaayathrii mantra. One gains purity of mind and gain more absorption, retention and thinking power. Also the result of this chanting is multifold compared to other days. Oh my dear friends! Come……. Now, let’s all of us symbolically celebrate this day of Shraavanapoornimaa by performing the japa of the holy Gaayathrii mantra 108 times. ` The festival of NaaraliiPoornimaa is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in this famous and dhaarmik land of Bhaarath. Especially those people involved in fishing in the regions of Konkan, Maharashtra and Gujrat observe this festival with faith on the poornimaa day of the month of Shraavana according to the lunar calendar of the Hindu almanac. Firstly, on this day, the people observe fasting and then perform the poojaa to Lord Varuna. Later, after eating sweets made of coconut, for the entire day, all of them are totally involved in singing and dancing (for ex. Kohli dance). We wish all of you a very happy Naaralipoornimaa. Senior students will speak on RakshaBandhan. ` The day which is famous as in the country of Bhaarat as Rakhi/RakshaBandhan occurs on the full moon day of the Lunar month Shraavana of the Hindu almanac. This festival is celebrated in different ways in different states. On this day the

sisters apply tilaka on the forehead of their brothers and tie the sacred thread of rakhi to their wrists. Then, they do aarati to their brothers and whole-heartedly pray for their well-being.Thebrothers gift something in return to their sisters. The significance of this day is that its wishing for the protection of not only brothers and sisters but also husband-wife, Guru-shishya or any 2 well-wishers. Thus the Rakhi increases the bondage of Love between the two and transcends the borders of one’s own family to the entire world - Jagat as one family. It’s said so in a shloka - Lord Siva is considered as the Father and Goddess Parvati as the Mother. The devotees of the Lord are my relatives, and I belong to all the 3 worlds. We wish all of you a very happy RakshaBandhan.

“Haathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiyya lal ki

Nand ke anand bhayo, jai kanhaiyya lal ki”

‘Janmashtami’ or ‘Gopalkala’ is the birth of Lord Krishna, 8th incarnation of lord

Vishnu. He is The Supreme, The Protector of the universe who takes various avatars

whenever the world is threatened with evil, chaos, and destructive forces. On 3rd

September 2018, NV Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kanarkhed celebrated Krishna

Janmashtami which made the enthusiasm of the children knew, no bounds. Like every

year, it was celebrated even this year with the involvement of all the members of the

Vidyalaya under the guidance of the Director- Swamini Ujjawalananda Ammaji and

the Principal- PRS Chakravarthi Dada.

The Vidyalaya became like Gokul. On this day, children of std. 1 and std 2

got dressed up as Krishna/ Gwala and Radha/ Gopis. The Cradleof Bala Krishna was

decorated with beautiful flowers surrounded by butter pots. The Cradle Ceremony of

Bala-Krishna was taken up first. All children cradled Bala-Krishna class-wise and

Makhan (butter) Prashada was distributed.

As soon as all the children finished their lunch, they changed their

costumes and sprinted to the sand pit where the Dahi Handis were to be broken.

Everyone was in high spirits that day. Followed by that, all children gathered around

the square sand pit to wait for their turn. The children entered the sand pit class-wise

and made human pyramids to reach the Matki. At times, they fell over one another,

but exemplarily got up again and formed pyramids. Many melodious bhajans were

played. Children broke matki and danced under the shower of water; tais and dadas

sprinkled on them from the terrace of the building. They also pulled their tais, dadas

and principal dada into the dance with them. Parents of class 7 witnessed the event

happily. At the end it was the teacher’s turn to make pyramids. All the male teachers

made the pyramid and the Dahi Handi was broken. All teachers of Shishu Vaatika and

Vidyalaya danced together for some time. Some teachers went up the stairs to shower

water on everyone. After this event, all children changed their wet clothes. They were

given the prashada of the Gopal Kala.

Under the guidance of Ammaji and principal dada, all tais, dadas, maushi,

the office staff and a few children worked devotedly to make the programme a grand

success. Everyone enjoyed the day which left the imperishable memories in the minds

of one and all.

Great care was taken during the programme that all the activities strictly

adhere to Indian culture and don’t cause any harm to nature. For example, only Indian

cultural songs were played, children dressed in Indian traditional dress, no balloons

were used where only natural flowers and leaves were used for decoration of hanging

matki….

Under the guidance of Mangesh dada and Ulhas dada students learn how to make Ganpati idol by clay. All techers of our Vidyalaya were involved in Ganpati idol making.. By this workshop we tried to give message to use clay to make Ganpati instead of Plaster of Paris, because Plaster of Paris is mainly the compound of gypsum, sulphur, phosphorus and magnesium. Chemical paints comprise of mercury, cadmium, lead and carbon. And it is very dangerous for environment It Pollutes water and creates various problems of health. All teachers gave their valuable support to make celebration a successful one.
