crackajack : I understand your tiredness, sir. Are you able to expand on the acoustic test from last

week?

dr dan burisch : How did you find out about that little ditty? [smiles]

dr dan burisch : Obviously. Okay, I can accept that. The test was moderately successful, but didn't

provide sufficient data to declare that a positive data replication result was

forthcoming.

crackajack : ok

dr dan burisch : I had the... …you are aware of where it took place?

crackajack : Yes. Frenchmans [mountain]. The schist?

dr dan burisch : Yup! I had the microphone attached to the rock above the schist (earlier age) and ran

an exact replication of the acoustic test I did in laboratory. The test -- in lab --

provided very unusual data in that it produced two distinct sound segments we

termed anomalous.

crackajack : Wow! From afar?

SOMEWHERE.

dr dan burisch : The "crackling" lasted for a duration of 10.2 seconds and had a acoustic mean of

1500Hz. The second signal was MUCH more strange. It lasted for over 15 seconds

and had an acoustic mean of 500Hz. I would be hard-pressed to say what it really

was, however. I have advanced the unusual proposition that its acoustic quality was

a near match for human singing. Thus far, our acoustic people on both coasts ...

dr dan burisch : I am not aware of who has put this through. However, I am grateful for the

crackajack : How is your heart condition? I hear you will not be going through with surgery. Can you

expand on your rationale?

dr dan burisch : Thanks for the question. I appreciate the concern. The state of the heart disease is

thus: It is diffuse and spreading throughout the coronary collaterals near the apex

of my heart.

crackajack : I wish -- we all wish -- you to be well.

dr dan burisch : Thank you, and my "heart"-felt prayers go out to everyone as well. The situation is

that the location of the disease makes me a poor candidate for direct intervention

(open chest). So there has been a raging debate underway between two sets of

cardiologists who have been managing my illness.

One wants to continue me with EECP. However, after nearly a week of

treatment, during two successive occasions I developed such a ravenous migraine that

I could not continue. The other, however, remains the one with the medication --

dr dan burisch : I am around so much electricity and so much quartz… if it happens it happens. But I

would not be the one to play God. One of the doctors is more pro-intervention via

cardiac catheterization angioplasty. However, many of the areas are too small to

balloon. So, my status remains medicated. Debate continues.

dr dan burisch : If I had been told by anyone that I consider having the right to say it -- that it shouldn't

be known -- I wouldn't say anything.

crackajack : Can you envisage speaking of your work should you be under subpeona?

dr dan burisch : Well ... If I am under subpoena -- and for some reason the subpoena is not "lifted" or

made to go away -- I can envision responding to any lawful court order. I will.

crackajack : Understand. You do need to (must) finish your project, yes?

dr dan burisch : At least the model.

crackajack : So any "out", for talk, would mean relevant to project only. Then potentially back "in",

for completion?

dr dan burisch : If I am asked a question -- any question -- I will respond to it honestly. The nature of

the question will determine the nature of the honest response. However, in either

case honesty will prevail.

the pentagonal morphology that seems to be ever present in this process.
