TheInternetExchangeofFiji(FiX),willbetheneutralmeetingpointoftheISPsinFiji.ItsmainpurposeistofacilitateexchangeofdomesticInternettrafficbetweenthepeeringISPmembers.

InternetexperienceforthelocalcommunityhasimprovedsignificantlysincetheestablishmentoftheVanuatuIXPandcontinuestodosoasmorecontents/servicesareaddedtotheIXP.

TheVanuatuIXP,whichiscurrentlyhousedattheVanuatuGovernmentDatacenter,hassincebecomecriticalinfrastructureforVanuatu.

PapuaNewGuineacanexpectanimproved InternetexperienceaslocalInternetServiceProviders(ISPs)beginconnectingtotheeconomy’sfirstneutralInternetExchangePoint– PNG- IXP.A softlauncheventwasheldon5April2017tocommemorateitsoperationwithanofficiallaunchsetfor17May.

HostedbyPNG’stelecommunicationregulator,the NationalInformationandCommunicationsTechnologyAuthority(NICTA),thenewIXPwillhelpreducedelayandoperationalcostsassociatedwithroutinglocaltrafficviainternationallinks,improvingthequalityofconnectivityandservice.
