Agency) contracts with BBN (Bolt, Beranek & Newman) to create ARPAnet

• 1970 - First five nodes: – UCLA– Stanford– UC Santa Barbara– U of Utah, and – BBN

• 1974 - TCP specification by Vint Cerf.

• 1984 – On January 1, the Internet with its 1000 hosts converts en masse to using TCP/IP for its messaging.g

CableThrough the use of a cable modem you can have a broadband Internet connection that is designed to operate over cable TV lines.

Cable Internet works by using TV channel space for data transmission, with certain channels used for downstream transmission, and other channels for upstream transmission.

•HTTP modules – Used to perform tasks specific to HTTP in the request- processing pipeline,such as responding to information and inquiries sent in client headers, returning HTTP errors, and redirecting requests.

•Security modules – Used to perform tasks related to security in the request-processing pipeline, such as specifying authentication schemes, performing URL authorization, and filtering requests.

•Content modules – Used to perform tasks related to content in the request-

HARMFUL EFFECT OF INTERNETThere are too much advantages of internet but there is disadvantages also. .

A lot of virus enters through internet in our computer.

By internet many hackers, hack the account of general peoples and steel their money.

Information also get leaked by internet.

Internet also help terrorists to give the Information of the country.
