NEWS RELEASE: JUNE 25, 2012 Internship Program Launched at Fulton Companies Nine Colleges and Universities Represented in Program's Debut Summer

Pulaski, NY — The Fulton Companies (www.fulton.com), the global manufacturer of steam, hydronic and thermal fluid heat transfer products, has launched a formal collegiate internship program, with 14 student interns participating in the program's inaugural summer. Ranging from engineering, business and technology majors, the students are put to work assuming the responsibilities and challenges of a full-time professional.

"It is important for students to get a dose of real work," said Zach Hilton, in-house recruiter at Fulton and coordinator of the program. "I wanted to provide every intern with the opportunity of new experiences that will help them formulate an idea about what they want to do before they get into the workforce."

Fulton institutes both extensive and intensive hands-on work experience to develop specialized and practical skills. Sarah Hill, an industrial engineering student at Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology, says that one of her favorite things about Fulton is the ambition to build upon current successes and industry trends.

"I hope to take away a better understanding of process improvement," Hill states. "I want to help make the jobs of others here more efficient."

Not only will the students better understand the importance of the Fulton Values, Philosophy and Vision through this program, they will also have the opportunity to work side by side with real professionals in their field of study. Tom McCarty, a mechanical engineering student at Clarkson University (N.Y.) explains, "Seeing what they (engineers) do on a daily basis is giving me great insight on what it really means to be a project manager. Most of the

engineers spent years on the floor learning the ins and outs of all the products by actually building them."

Joe Katchmar, a business administrative student at Mohawk Valley Community College (N.Y.) adds, "Working with qualified people in the field is great, there is always somebody to go to if I have any questions."

Summer 2012 is the first year Fulton has instituted the formal internship program, with the goals of developing a qualified pool of candidates for employment.

As program coordinator, Zach Hilton wanted to ensure that Fulton hired interns in multiple departments to allow variety. Hilton is a firm believer that programs like this not only promote the local economy but also display long time investment within small communities such as Pulaski, N.Y.

"There aren't a lot of internship options in this area," Hilton explains. "I wanted to provide local students with the opportunity I didn't have."

Fulton recognizes the value that internship opportunities provide for students and hopes to assist in the development of future professionals.
