    Known Issues

The controller frequently send unannounced data to the handset in power save mode resulting in retransmissions, lowered transmission rates and throughput. No problem from an end user perspective was noticed due to this in the test environment. Unclear what effect it will have in a customer system with high load.

For additional information regarding known issues, please contact [email protected].

Compatibility Information Validation at Ascom HQ in Gothenburg was carried out in an environment involving a HP830 Unified Wired WLAN Switch that ran software version 3507P26 and 425/460 access points. As a result, this report is applicable to controllers on the same software version and access points incorporating the same radio chips. The following HP hardware is supported: Compatible Controllers HP 830 Wired-WLAN Switch Series HP 850 Wired-WLAN Appliance Series HP 870 Wired-WLAN Appliance Series HP WX500x Access Controller Series HP 10500/7500 20G Unified Wires-WLAN module Compatible Access Points MSM 425 MSM 430 MSM 460 MSM 466/466-R Note: This report is valid for Ascom i62 and OEM variants.

General conclusion With the exception of listed Known Issues, all verified test areas, such as authentication, association, handover and load tests, produced good results. The roaming experience, no matter whether employing PSK and 802.1X, was fully acceptable from the user perspective. As mentioned, the outcomes of load tests were satisfactory. In both active and U-APSD modes, it was possible to maintain twelve simultaneous calls per AP without any noticeable deterioration of voice quality. This number was not imposed by a limitation of capacity, but rather phones available at the time of testing. Keep in mind that a baseline of ten calls per AP is quite adequate for most deployments.
