Standards and Integrated Management Standards. Francine lives in the Sirhowy Valley and has worked in Wales throughout her career in a variety of industries, including automotive, paper and board, travel, construction, local authorities and health boards. During this time, she has seen many changes from the decline of mining in the valleys to seeing Wales continue to develop and encourage SMEs in all sectors. Francine has successfully carried out initial accreditation audits, surveillance audits and recertification audits in a wide variety of industry sectors and has visited companies from the very small, who need certification in order to continue supplying larger organisations, to those large organisations themselves, e.g. British Steel in Port Talbot. She also has knowledge of Welsh Government requirements, such as targets for recycling and environmental legislation that are particular to Wales. Prior to working with Certification Bodies, Francine was a health and safety consultant and supported numerous clients in meeting their health and safety obligations.

Karl Haarland – Intertek Technical DirectorKarl is responsible for the day to day technical operation of Intertek Certification Limited and Intertek’s Global UKAS accreditation across multiple management system and product certification standards. With a commercially focused outlook to the implementation of management systems and risk-based approaches he can offer deep insight into making management systems add value for an organisation and unlocking commercial opportunity.

Taking leadership of Intertek’s UK management systems and CSR auditor teams he is well versed in the issues that organisations are facing today and can offer pragmatic approaches to addressing requirements.

Karl’s approach is backed up by multiple professional qualifications including Lead Auditor to different management systems and accreditation Standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 22301, ISO 17025, ISO 17065, SSIP, UL Data Acceptance and IEC Supervised Manufacturers Testing. Karl recently qualified as a GDPR Professional.. His formal education is to MBA level.

Rob van Dorp – Chief Executive, Intertek UK & Eire

Rob is Chief Executive of Intertek UK & Eire, part of Intertek Group plc, the FTSE 100 leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide. Intertek Group has over 42,000 colleagues in more than 100 countries, and Intertek UK is one of its core markets with over 2,000 colleagues across 60 sites; delivering bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for customers’ operations and supply chains across industries including retail and consumer goods, electrical, transportation and shipping.

Rob has completed a range of strategy and operational leadership roles with Intertek since 2008, in markets including the UAE, Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, before becoming CEO for Intertek’s home market in 2014. Rob started his career with Accenture, and holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Francine Lennon – Intertek Lead Auditor Francine is a fully qualified lead assessor with considerable experience of carrying outassessments against ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 & 1090 Management

Engineering, Construction, Automotive, Recruitment, Data Centres, SaaS providers and consulting services.Steve is the line manager responsible for audit delivery from a team of certified lead auditors across multiple schemes to include ISO 9001:2008 and 2015; ISO 14001:2004 and 2015; ISO 27001:2013; BS OHSAS 18001:2007 and SSIP, EN 1090, AS9100, ISO 20000-1:2013 and ISO 22301:2012. Steve promotes a value-added approach to management system audit completion within a team of experienced auditors, to ensure a consistent approach is provided across all certification projects and schemes delivered.

Athiya Khatri (Tia) – Intertek Technical Team Leader /Senior CSR Auditor

Our expert CSR trainer, Athiya Khatri(Tia) is a highly experienced auditor who conducts audits in over 30 different standards including: SMETA 2 and 4 pillar, WCA, EICC, as well as client specific audits such as Apple, Coca-Cola, Unilever and L’Oréal.Tia started her career in Quality Control in the Textile industry and then progressed into compliance. Her auditing experience is wide-ranging and covers Textiles, Food and Beverages, Service Industry, Chemicals, Personal Care Items, Electronics, Footwear, Furniture Manufacture, Farming, Printers, Logistics, and Hotels. Working across global markets since 2007, Tia has conducted audits in China, India and the United Kingdom.Tia is qualified as an IRCA Auditor, CPI Auditor and CPI Trainer, and provides the 4-day Lead Auditor course, 1-day generic CSR courses, modern slavery courses, and other bespoke courses. Tia also write manuals for clients on standards covering topics such as Health and Safety.
