your first job, a potential employer may

well be swayed by a show of enthusiasm,

high values, flexibility and self-motivation.

What do Employers want???

Imagine you are the employer or manager of

McDonald’s who has to fill a Crew Member

position.

 How would you go about selecting the right

person?

Put yourself in the Interviewers shoes!

When you arrive…

• Treat the receptionist as a VIP• Smile!• Maintain eye contact• Have a firm hand shake• Try to be calm and relaxed• Practise, Practise, Practise!

Things to DO!

• Always arrive a few minutes early • Greet the interviewer by their Surname• Shake hands firmly and look them in the

eye• Give full answers to questions• Ask questions about the role and the

company• Thanks the interviewer for their time

Be prepared for questions such as…

• Why are you applying for this role?• What are your strengths?• How do you spend you spare time?• What do you know about our company?• What does “Teamwork” mean to you?• What do you want to be doing in five years

time?

Questions Employers should not ask candidates?

Beware of questions that maybe discriminatory. Use commonsense! Not all employers are bad people!

Always be yourself and enjoy the interview!

• Advice is good to get but at the end of the day you are responsible for what happens to you in your life!

• You make the decision that is right for you!

• Don’t worry about making mistakes just as long as you learn from them!

• Attend as many interviews as you can.
