1 DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE SPECIFICATION
Sensor Trigger Handheld or Sensor Diagnostic Device is intended for usage of triggering sensors in order to
check sensor ID, pressure, temperature and status.

1.1 FUNCTION KEYS

1.2 SWITCHING ON/OFF THE DEVICE
1.2.1 Switch On
Press the button to switch on the diagnostic device.
1. First, the display shows the sens.it HD logo.
2. The software version currently installed in the diagnostic device is displayed.
3. Now you are taken to the main menu.

1.2.2 Switch Off
To switch off the device, press and hold until the display turns down. This process takes about 6 seconds.
Alternatively, the device switches off automatically after few minutes without action. This time limit after which the diagnostic device switches off can be changed in the settings.
1.3 NOTICES FOR DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE
Your diagnostic device was developed for correct use for continuous, safe and reliable operation.
All diagnostic devices must be used by qualified and trained personnel only. Read all operating
instructions before use. Follow all safety instructions.
• Clean with a soft, dry or damp cloth. Do not use any harsh chemical solvents like acetone, thinners,
brake cleaner, alcohol, etc., because they can damage the plastic surface.
• The diagnostic device must not be used if there is a risk of contact with water or immersion in water.
It must be ensured that liquid is not spilled on the diagnostic device.
• The diagnostic device must not be stored in an area in which it is exposed to direct sunlight or
excessive moisture.
• To reduce the risk of fire, the diagnostic device must not be operated near open containers or
flammable liquids. Do not use the diagnostic device if there is danger of explosive gases or vapours.
Keep the diagnostic device away from heat sources. Do not operate the diagnostic device without
the battery cover.

2 SAFETY
The diagnostic device corresponds to Part 15 of the FCC Regulations.
The operation is subject to the following conditions:
1. The diagnostic device does not cause any harmful interference.
2. The diagnostic device accepts all received interferences, including interferences that can result in
undesired or defective operation.
Warning
The diagnostic device transmits electromagnetic and
electronically generated waves that can impair the safe operation
of pacemakers. Persons with pacemakers must not use the
diagnostic device.

2.1 FUNDAMENTAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The following basic safety notices must be observed.
1. Respect the applicable regulations in your work area. Switch off the device in any sectors in which
use is prohibited or where malfunctions due to interference or other dangers can occur.

2. Only use the device for the functions intended in the operating manual.
3. The device and accessories may contain small parts. They must be kept out of the reach of children.
2.2 CHARGING
1. Only use the charging device supplied by the manufacturer. Use of other charging devices can cause
malfunctions and/or danger. The charging process is finished when the red LED lamp goes out.
2. Do not use the charging device in damp areas.
3. Avoid contact with the device if your hands or feet are wet.
4. The charging device should be operated in an adequately ventilated area. The charging device must
not be covered with paper or other materials that prevent it from cooling. the charging device must
not be used if it is in a transport housing.
5. Connect to the device to a regular power source. The required voltage is specified on the product
housing and/or the package.
6. The charging device must not be used if the wires are damaged. Do not attempt to maintain the unit.
It does not contain any parts that can be maintained. Replace the unit if it is damaged or has become
damp.
7. This charging device is not a toy and should not be used by children or impaired persons without
adequate training or supervision.
8. This charging device must not be used as a power source.
9. The charging device must be disconnected from the power supply before any care and cleaning.
Attention: Device contains a NiMH Battery
There is a risk of explosion and harmful chemical substances can
be released if it is handled improperly. In order to avoid the risk
of fire or burns: Do not disassemble, crush, drill into or throw the
battery or device into fire or water and do not short-circuit or
connect the contacts to a metal object.
2.3 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF NIMH BATTERIES
1. Never leave the battery unattended while charging. The device must be placed on a non-flammable
surface (ceramic plate or metal housing) during the charging process.
2. If the battery temperature rises above 60°C, the charging process must be discontinued immediately.
The battery temperature must NOT exceed 60°C during the charging process.

3. The battery must NOT be charged immediately after use or while it is still hot. It must cool down to
environmental temperature first.
4. Discontinue the charging process immediately if smoke or liquid emerges from the battery.
Disconnect the charging device and move the device to an isolated area for at least 15 minutes. The
battery must not be used again. Return the device to your dealer.
5. Keep a fire extinguisher ready to hand when charging the battery. In the unlikely event that the NiMH
battery ignites, use sand or a fire extinguisher (see above), NOT water, to extinguish the fire.
6. The non-recyclable elements of the NiMH battery must be neutralized. The neutralization process
must be carried out under strict safety precautions. We recommend sending the device back to
manufacturer or deliver it to a special recycling company.

For environmental protection purposes, ensure you
dispose of all electronic and non-electronic
components by recycling correctly.

3 OPERATION
3.1 READ SENSOR
1. Select Trigger sensor in the main menu and confirm with OK.
2. In the next submenu, you have the option of selecting between:
Wheel selection
(C) Back to the menu
Read sensor
Please select Read sensor by pressing the button and direct the diagnostic’s device
antenna towards the approximate position of a sensor. Diagnostic device should read the sensor.
You can select an explicit sensor number (1-20), which is then read in the case of Wheel selection.
The measured values are shown on the display.

3. The reading process can be ended by pressing .
4. When the process is ended, you are brought to the Vehicle in progress menu. There is an option of selecting between:
Save data record
(C) Back to reading mode
Delete data record
• If you select Save data record, you can save all sensor data read in the preceding reading process and print it out with the "Web-VT" application. See the chapter 3.2 "Print saved sensor information" for further information.
• If you select Back to reading mode, you return to the reading process.
• If you select Delete data record, all read sensor data of the preceding reading process is deleted.
After the selection, you return to the main menu.
First read the sensor of the from the left front wheel as viewed from the driver (FL). Then proceed to the
right front wheel and then the available axles on the right side from the outside to the inside. At the rear
of the vehicle switch to the left side and proceed from the outside to the inside until you reach the left
front wheel again.
This process should be carried out in clockwise motion for all tire sensors.
3.2 DOWNLOAD SAVED SENSOR INFORMATION
In order to download your sensor information read with the diagnostic device, you must use the "webVT"
application, which you should have installed on a PC.
Installation instructions for this are provided in chapter 5.2 "Updating the diagnostic device".
1. If you have read one or multiple sensors in a single pass and have ended / cancelled the process, you are asked what should happen with the sensor data. Select SAVE RECORDS from the menu.

After the record was saved, the diagnostic device returns to the main menu.
2. Now connect the diagnostic device to your PC with the supplied USB cable.
3. Launch the "webVT".
4. In webVT app go to My Jobs -> Synchronize to PC
5. The "webVT" application recognizes the diagnostic device and then recognizes that the sensor information is saved on the diagnostic device.
You are asked by the "webVT" application whether you want to display the last records.

Confirm your intention to display the sensor data by clicking on "Yes" in the query of the "webVT" application. The "webVT" application opens Windows Editor. The saved sensor data is listed there in the following format:

6. You can work now with the sensor data same as with a standard Windows text file (save, print, copy etc.).
3.3 SETTINGS MENU
To reach Settings menu:
1. After turning on the device, select Settings from the main menu by pressing button.
2. Confirm the selection by pressing .
3. Navigate through the Settings menu by pressing buttons, or return to main menu by
pressing .
4. Confirm the selection of the parameter you desire to adjust by pressing or return to Settings
menu by pressing .
5. Change the value by pressing and confirm by pressing or return to Settings menu
by pressing .

3.3.1 Functional Description of The Settings Items
LF POWER: Changing the LF signal strength (1 % to 100 % or DEFAULT)
UNITS: Change the display for air pressure and temperature (kPa, bar or PSI combined with F° or
C°).
BUZZER ON: Set the buzzer to ON or OFF (YES or NO).
CONTRAST: Adjust the brightness of the LCD background light (0 % to 100 %).
AUTO OFF: Time after which the device switches off automatically when it is not in operation (1-60 min.
or DEACTIVATED).
3.4 "ABOUT" MENU
Navigate to About Menu to display of the current device version and information about the device.
To reach About Menu:
1. After turning on the device, select About Menu from the main menu by pressing button twice.
2. Confirm the selection by pressing or return to About menu anytime by pressing .
3.5 LANGUAGE MENU
To reach Language menu:
1. After turning on the device, select Language from the main menu by pressing button twice.

4 DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE BATTERY
The battery output is sufficient for about 400 sensor reading processes per charge (approx. 80-100
vehicles). A full recharge of the battery takes about 6 hours.
The battery status can be displayed by pressing the button for one second when device is on.
If the battery level is low, the message LOW blinks on the battery display and the corresponding bar
diagram is displayed every 10 seconds.
Do not try to replace battery. The warranty is voided if the device is opened or the seal on the device is
damaged. The device must be sent back to the manufacturer to replace the battery.
4.1 CHARGING
1. Use the USB cable provided in the packaging to connect the diagnostic device to the charging
adapter.
2. Choose the appropriate socket adapter for your country-specific socket type from supplied socket
adapters and connect it with the USB charging adapter.
3. Connect the USB charging adapter to a suitable socket.
4. The CHARGE LED lamp illuminates red.
5. When the device is charged, a full bar diagram is displayed and the CHARGE LED lamp illuminates
green.
We advise against using the diagnostic device with a low battery level, because transmission and emission
can be faulty.

5 UPDATING DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE
In order to be able to update the diagnostic device, you need the "webVT" application and a USB driver
that installed on your PC. Updating procedure for diagnostic device to done automatically when device is
connected to your computer via USB with “webVT” application launched.
5.1 INSTALLATION OF “WEBVT” APPLICATION
1. Insert the CD in the CD drive of your PC and run the "webVT_V7-13" file on the CD, or download the latest version of “webVT” application from: https://www.ateq-tpms.com/
2. Follow the instructions of the installation program. New “webVT” icon appears on your desktop after successful installation of the "webVT" application.
3. After the installation of “webVT” application, the installation program immediately installs the USB driver. Please click on Install.
4. Please follow the instructions of the installation program again. The installation program is closed after a successful process by clicking on Finish.
5.2 UPDATING PROCEDURE
1. Please start the "webVT" application. 2. After the "webVT" application has successfully recognized the diagnostic device, you are prompted
to register the diagnostic device. 3. If the registration process is finished, the "webVT" application compares the software version of the
connected diagnostic device to the latest available version of this software. If a more current software version is available, you are asked whether you want to update your diagnostic device to the latest software version. Select Fast update.
4. After you have confirmed that you would like to update the diagnostic software, you can follow the progress of the update in the "webVT" application. Do NOT disconnect the diagnostic device from the PC during the update process.
5. If the update was successful, you receive a corresponding message at the end of the process.

6. It is also possible to do manual update any time later. For manual update go to My Tools -> Update -> Full
7. Then confirm that you want to update the device
8. If the update was successful, you receive a corresponding message at the end of the process. Download status and transfer to device status shall be 100%.

6 TROUBLESHOOTING
SENSOR CANNOT BE READ.
The problem is usually caused by any of the following reasons:
1. Check if there is a sensor installed in the wheel to be read.
2. Ensure the sensor is not damaged or defective.
3. Your diagnostic device may require a software update.
4. Check the "Auto OFF" time settings for the screen display.
