LibraryAIC has a very sound library facility. The text book section of the library is quite rich to serve the demand of the ever increasing number of students. Reference section of the library is equally strong with the availability of widely referred books in the field of management. The availability of selected journals, study reports, audio, video CDs and other reference materials have added value in our library and documentation center.

Hotel Management LabApollo International College has well-equipped modern laboratories which include kitchen, bakery lab, restaurants and housekeeping. These equipped laboratories and quality ancillary facilities assure students of being competent to successfully handle jobs of hoteliers and managers in today's competitive global arena of hotels and tourism industry.

SportsAIC arranges various sports, including Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Football and Cricket.

Computer LabAIC is well equipped with the state of art technology. It has sufficient computers. It is also equipped with multimedia and unlimited internet facilities. Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) program at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) of Pokhara University provides students with sound conceptual knowledge, skills, and attitude required for the various areas of business and hospitality management. The BHM program aims at developing students' intellectual ability, executive personality and managerial skills through an appropriate blending of business and general education with courses related to hospitality management. The program is targeted at building leadership qualities required for managing business functions. The program also aims to produce entrepreneurs who can initiate small scale hotel and restaurant business.

After completion of all the requirements of the four year study program, graduates should be able to: - Occupy supervisory

positions in the hotel and catering industry with adequate background of management functions;

- Acquire technical and social knowledge and skills required for professional handling of hotel and catering operations;

- Apply management skills for greater economy and success of business operations;

- Set standards for quality assurance of the services offered to customers;

- Develop positive attitude towards the trade with greater initiative and self confidence in handling the operations; and

- Become a successful entrepreneur in a small and medium size enterprise.

AIC believes in student-centered teaching-l e a r n i n g m e t h o d o l o g y. I t s t e a c h i n g methodology is based on application of modern equipment and real life experiences. It is managed through updated teaching-learning techniques that involve active classroom participation, interaction between students and f a c u l t i e s , w o r k s h o p s a n d s e m i n a r s , presentations and report writings. The college has introduced various teaching aids to facilitate the teaching-learning process.

Group DiscussionAccording to the subject demand, group discussions among students are organized frequently so that diverse ideas are shared. This makes the whole process of learning, stimulating and meaningful.

Class ParticipationInquisitiveness is highly appreciated at AIC. While students are encouraged to put forward their queries and doubts without hesitation, they are likely to face surprise tests and pop quizzes to test their awareness and focus.

Guest LecturesLeading personalities and authorities from various fields are regularly invited to speak to students on a variety of subjects and share from their storehouse of experience and knowledge. Audio-Visual AidsEach classroom has multimedia access. Audio visual and other teaching aids are used, where required, to ensure effective learning.

Project and PresentationStudents are assigned projects relevant to the course requirement. Project works are always in high demand as students need to demonstrate their ability to experiment, manage time and practice presentation skills.

Field Trips and ExcursionsAs we all know, students need to experience the application of their knowledge in the real world and also get some time off from the monotony of classroom learning. Therefore, we at AIC frequently organize excursions and field trips to enhance practical learning

InternshipFor BBA and BBA-BI each student shall be engaged in different Banks and Business Houses on an intern basis for a period of 6 to 8 weeks and for BHM, students under goes internship for one year during 7th and 8th Semester. This provision is mandatory. It has been designed to put their classroom learning into practice.

WorkshopsThis is organized times and again to discuss ideas on a particular topic. Different experts from the respective areas are invited to conduct the workshop.

- Must have completed the Higher Secondary Level (10+2) or equivalent as recognized by Pokhara University;

- Must have secured at least C Grade marks at (10+2) Level,

- Should apply in the prescribed form for the entrance test;

- Should enclose with the application form attested copies of:

- Mark Sheet and character certificate of SEE or equivalent. - Transcript and character certificate of 10+2 or equivalent. - Original Migration Certificate for those students who have passed NEB exam or equivalent degree from a foreign country. - Copy of citizenship.

Entrance Test On receipt of the completed application form, the candidate shall be registered for the Entrance Test. All applicants for the program are required to sit for an Entrance Test. The Test is designed to assess candidates for the program in the following areas.

Verbal ability 25 marks Quantitive ability 25 marks Logical reasoning 25 marks General awareness 25 marks

InterviewSuccessful candidates at the written test will present themselves at interview/aptitude test along with parents or guardians. Those candidates who are listed in the final record will meet us within the time frame as fixed by the college.

Attendance- Students must have a minimum of 90%

attendance of total classes taken.- Students must participate in units and

terminal tests of the college.- S t u d e n t s m u s t p a s s i n t e r n a l

examinations in order to qualify for the final exams.

- Students' progress report will be sent to guardians.

Evaluation System Apollo International College follows

Pokhara University's evaluation system to measure students' academic performance. The system is as follows:

External Evaluation(Semester End Examination)- Fifty percent (50%) weight is given to

external evaluation. The semester end examination is conducted by the office of the controller of examination, Pokhara University.

Internal Evaluation- Fifty percent (50%) weight is given on internal

evaluation. Internal evaluation will be done by the concerned college faculty members.

Rules and RegulationAll students are advised to abide by following rules and regulations and failure to abide by these rules and regulations will invite action against violators.

Do's- Get their leave application sanctioned prior to

their leave.- Cover up at least 90 percent of attendance.- Pass all the internal exams to qualify for their

board exams.

Don'ts- Keep their hairs long and dyed.- Put on friendship bands, chains and other

ornamental things.- Bring printed materials, periodicals, magazines,

pictures, newspapers, non-textual books, CDs, album and mobile phones.

- Use smoking, narcotics and alcoholic items inside the college premises.

Key Features

Scholarship for 2nd to 8th Semester:BBA, BBA-BI and BHM will be granted based on the previous semester's result. it is granted in tuition fee only to the 1st three candidates, either university or college topper, 100%, 50% and 25% respectively. In case of the SGPA being equal among the toppers, the scholarship will be distributed proportionately.
