INTER HOUSE ONE ACT PLAY COMPETITION

‘One Act Play’ an Inter House Competition was organised in Delhi Public School,

Bopal on 02.05.13 for classes IX and X. The presentation in the skit had to be an

excerpt or abridged form of any play from Literature. All the houses not only

chose their story/classic thoughtfully but had also taken pains to design sets and

costumes. Our own teachers chiselled and polished the acting talent of our young

stars and encouraged them to put their best foot forward. Plays like Julius Ceaser,

The Merchant of Venice, Refund, and ‘The Beggar and the King’ were enacted on

the stage with much precision. As the enacting rounds were in progress, pin drop

silence prevailed and the audience devoured the inquiry and the intrigue that was

emanating.

Action drama and a nail biting finish were the ingredients of the competition. The

whole programme was delineated with meticulous execution.

CLAY MODELLING COMPETITION

Clay Modelling Competition was held on 26.06.13 for classes I and II in their

respective classes. The models made by the little angels were just fabulous. The

best model was selected as a winner from each section.

INTER HOUSE HINDI QUIZ COMPETITION

सह� श�द बताएँ, Inter House Hindi Quiz Competition was held for classes III, IV and V on

26.06.13, 27.06.13 and 29.06.13 respectively. It was a Team Event.

There were different rounds like- Jumble the word, Rapid Fire, Tell me the story etc.

which were very interesting and a keen participation was seen from all the students

who were participating as well as the audience. A very prompt and enthusiastic

response was given by all the participants and the audience too.

INTER HOUSE FOOTBALL 2013

FIRST MATCH: KAVERI vs MAHI (3-2)

On 27th June 2013 in the Inter House Football-2013,the first match was played

between Kaveri and Mahi. The match ended in favour of Kaveri, winning in

sudden death (3-2) pen. Goals for Kaveri house were scored by Anurag Suresh,

Anmol and Quayyun, while Jay Desai and Yash Halani scored for Mahi.

SECOND MATCH: NARMADA vs SABARMATI (2-1)

The second match saw Narmada and Sabarmati facing each other. Shane John

opened the scoring after just 30 seconds on the clock and the score line remained

the same till half-time. Parth brought up hope for Sabarmati, scoring in the 18th

minute. Shane was determined to achieve glory, and sealed the deal in the 19th

minute to end the match in favour of Narmada.

INTER HOUSE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

FIRST MATCH: GANGA vs TAPTI (2-0)

On 27.06.13 the first match of the Inter House Volleyball Tournament was played

between Ganga and Tapti with Ganga comfortably winning the game by winning

the first 2 sets 25-13 and 25-18. Akshat Patel, leading Ganga was the standout

player in the game.

SECOND MATCH: KAVERI vs SABARMATI (2-0)

The second game of the tournament was contested between Kaveri and

Sabarmati with Sabarmati winning the toss. Kaveri won the game by 2-0.

INTER HOUSE ENGLISH ELOCUTION COMPETITION

Inter House English Elocution Competition was held on 04.07.13 for classes VI,

VII and VIII. Among the several factors which are adjudges during a competition,

the children focused on aspects like culmination of voice quality, speech content

and the delivery standards.

IT QUIZ COMPETITION

Inter House IT Quiz for class-VI was conducted in Abhivyakti on 18.07.13 during

zero and first period. Each house had three participants in their team. There were

four rounds.

First round was on History of computers, second round was on Microsoft office

and third round was Visual round.

ADVERTISEMENT ON HEALTHY FOOD COMPETITION

To inculcate healthy food habits ‘Advertisement on Healthy Food’ competition was

organised for classes I & II on 23.07.13 and 24.07.13 respectively. The event

provided an informal platform for the children to develop their communication as

well as confidence while learning the importance of healthy eating. The best

presentation was chosen from each section to encourage the students for

maximum participation.

FACE MASK MAKING COMPETITION

On 25.07.13, Face Mask Making Competition was held for the classes III- V.

An Inter House Debate Competition for class IX was held on 17.10.13. The topic

was “The development of a sound educational and health system

ensures the nation’s security more than the 16 military strength”. They

were judged on the basis of diction, content, confidence, and presentation.

To develop good reading habit among our young readers a paragraph reading

competition was organized for class III on 27.01.14.

To see this creative aspect of our children and identify the hidden treasures a

‘News Reading Competition’ was held for Classes IV and V on 27.01.14. Each

participant had to read a news item on any topic (sports, weather, politics, social

etc.) of about 80 words.

Best ‘Paragraph Reader’/ ‘News Reader’ from each section was selected and

declared as the winner.
