Meet Mau, our MascotThe Arabian Mau ‘desert cat’ is the official mascot of Howlak.

The Mau has an unbroken history in the GCC of over 1,000 years. They are locals. The desert cat and binocular represent the local search for what’s good around you. His name is Mau.

Use Cases

Use Case 1: Khaled

Khaled is stuck in traffic. He is hungry and wants to know what's good nearby but doesn't have anyone in the area to call to find out. Khaled is hungry, sitting in traffic, looking to discover.

Use Case 2: Abdulrahman

Abdulrahman works in Al Sadd and eats at the same place every day with his colleagues. It's 12:30 and he has a meeting at 1p. Not enough time to make it to his usual spot and be back in time for his meeting. He only has 15 min for lunch. He is stuck, wanting to decide.

Use Case 3: Sara

Sara is a social butterfly. She enjoys dining out with friends several times a week and is known for her recommendations on what's good. Because of this her friends and colleagues always turn to her for her opinions.

She wants to be helpful but doesn't have time to help all of them and only responds to a few of the requests for advice. Her friends are always stuck, waiting for opinions.

Howlak is a social opinion app that uses visual ratings and short opinions to help you discover and

share great restaurant experiences.

With over 8,500 restaurants across 4 cities, Howlak is a fun and visual way to discover what’s good

around you.

The app uses geofencing technology to push instant restaurant

recommendations to your iPhone as you move around your city.
