OpenGov NSW

• a searchable online repository for information published by NSW Government agencies, including Annual Reports, other publications and open access information released under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act).

• both contemporary and historical

• currently over 2000 titles, including: a complete set of Government Gazettes 2001-2013 19th and early 20th century digitised Annual Reports for Public Works,

Police Child Welfare Department Annual Reports mid 20th century lots of current content; 2011-12 annual reports and plans

State Plan 2021

• Goal 31: Improve government transparency by increasing access to government information

• Actions to achieve this include: Develop an ‘Open Government’ plan to increase access to government

information. Expand the Publications NSW website to include access to all agency

information published as ‘open access’ under GIPA.

Digital archives

• State Records’ Future Proof strategy seeks to ensure that: the New South Wales government documents its business via the creation

of robust, useable and trustworthy digital records digital records are created and maintained in environments that have been

adequately assessed and treated for risks people and government have ready access to digital records documenting

the business and memory of the State of NSW, and the State’s digital archives are protected, preserved and accessible.

• Through our Digital Archives project we have established the infrastructure and expertise to keep digital information usable and trustworthy in the long term
