How We Connect In CommunitiesThe Myths and Misconceptions:Many communities still believein false information about organdonation. We face many challenges at a very basic level in getting people to change their minds and register.

Overcome the Challenges:AATF works directly with leaders and community based organizations to provide information and opportunities to register their decision to become donors

• Identifying existing opportunities to reach community members

• Customized outreach in specific areas-i.e. outreach in faith based organizations-pastors are important

• Maximizing resources and natural partnerships to inform people about the urgent need for organ and tissue don

• Continued development of the African-American Task Force-our volunteer base that works in 8 different chapter areas connecting resources and partners to help empower communities
