With its expanded sound library and sophisticated new feature set, the kt4 is KAT Percussion’s most advanced digital drum set to date. The KT4 is a 5-piece kit that features new high-end, professional quality drum and cymbal sounds percussion samples integrated into its built-in library of over 700 sounds.

More “drummer appeal” than everKAT has taken its already proven technology, made numerous refinements and several major advancements that give the kt4 an ever greater “drum set feel” to satisfy the player who may have previously been hesitant about playing an electronic drum set.

For a natural feeling response and real bass drum punch, KAT has developed an all-new bass drum kick tower that features an 8-inch Bass Pad fitted with a Mylar® drumhead, perfect for single or double pedal players. The four rack mounted drums are KAT’s ultra-responsive, 11-inch, dual-zone white drum pads. The kt4 can also be expanded to include one additional drum pad, making it a six-piece kit.

A better cymbal is here The kt4 is the first KAT drum set to feature a real-time actuating, movable, three-zone, 12-inch hi-hat cymbal pad to give you more control over your sound than ever before. Included with the kt4 is the DW3500 Hi-Hat Stand from Drum Workshop. The kit’s two choke-able 12-inch crash cymbals and extra-large 14-inch ride cymbal also have three programmable zones—bell, bow and edge for more robust and realistic playing.

Making the connectionsThe kt4 has all the connectivity you have come to expect from a KAT kit. A pair of ¼-inch stereo output jacks accommodate direct recording and mixer amplification. A stereo input jack allows you to plug in your mp3 player so you can play-along and practice to your favorite tunes.

The rear panel of the kt4 module has standard MIDI in/out ports and a USB 3.0 port that plugs directly into your PC or Mac, allowing you to interface with the software of your choice.

Hardware that’s easy The kt4’s stylish, curved chrome rack comes with heavy-duty black clamps and provides remarkable stability and unlimited component positioning. Included are three fully adjustable; hideaway boom arms to ensure maximum flexibility when positioning cymbals.

It comes down to the soundThe sophisticated kt4 Sound Module is loaded with a huge library of over 700 sounds of astounding sonic clarity. The drum kit sounds include exclusively sampled legendary drum sets from leading drum makers; all of which were dynamically multi-sampled to provide a more natural overall playing experience. The snare drum sounds include a variety of popular wood, brass and steel snare drums ranging from 12 to 14-inches.

The kt4 cymbal sounds were meticulously sampled from a hand-selected collection of professional-grade crashes, rides and hi-hats that feature incredibly beautiful articulation, sustain and decay.

KAT went straight to LP®, the industry-leader, for its distinctive and world-renowned percussion sounds. From congas and bongos, timbales to cowbells, the kt4’s high level of percussion voices have established a new standard for drum module realism.

In addition, the kt4 Sound Module includes a wide variety of popular DJ and EFX sounds to round out your repertoire. There is no shortage of options when it comes to full drum sets either. Choose from one of 55 pre-configured drum sets or build and save up to 44 user-programmable kits.

Control for your inner control freakWhen it comes to tweaking your sound to exactly the way you want it, the kt4 puts you in complete control. Voice controls include a selection of DSP room and hall reverbs as well as 4-bands of EQ to help you tailor each kit and each component to fit any musical style.

The kt4 module with its built-in general MIDI sound card includes 120 internal play-along songs and tap sounds that are both fun and challenging. With the included SD memory card, you can load an additional 100 play-along midi files from your own collection of compositions. Custom programmed kits can also back-up to the SD card for safe keeping.
